This is a fun poll! It makes you think "what if?". I would like my LCR .327fed mag in a 3". I would like my Taurus Tracker .44mag in 5" since my 4" is ported which makes it a 3". The list goes on.
It was enjoyable to me to read this thread. My original take on this platform is justified, a multipurpose gun that doesn't do either task well. For sure it serves a purpose for some. If I ran across a good deal I may go for one for giggles.
"verdun59, Well as has been mentioned, I sure would like a smaller LCR in a 32 magnum flavor, primarily for H&R. It would give my arthritis a rest.".
The LCR .327federal mag shoots .32 H&R, .32short, .32 long and sometimes .32acp
I have the same problem, shooting left and sometimes also low. Since my index finger is around 3/8" too short I have found that a firm grip with both hands and pulling straight back helps greatly.
I have 4ea .44mag and 1ea 45colt with an eye out for a .454. casull. Even though I don't shoot these much I enjoy them. A .460, .480, or .500 would be fun but other guns have a higher priority.
Inside with the doors closed. Seriously I can do 4 of 5 in a paper plate at 7yards. The trigger is much smoother than my J frame. Mine is a .38 spl and has a CT red laser on it.
I just purchased the Black Widow in .22lr with the 2" barrel. What a hoot! I can't hit dooly squat with it but shoot it quite a bit. I may eventually shoot it well enough to CCW it.
I picked up an Armscore model 200 .38spl 4" barrel for $200.00 ($270.00+ new) on trade. Sights aren't that good but shoots well. Handled Windicator (~$375.00) and liked them. A little "crunchy" but seemed to have possibilities.
I only have a Smith model 60 .357 3" barrel so that needs to be my favorite. Somewhere I read that this gun does not like a diet of full house .357 mags, so I limit it to .38 s&w unless carrying it.
My Rossi 972 .357 with a 6" full lug barrel taken in trade shoots really great, much better than I can. I was considering cutting the barrel down to 3" but my 2 buds talked me out of doing that. I have found that used revolvers are broken in really well. They are generally a great deal. I...
I have both the Ruger SP101 4" barrel and the Taurus model 94 5" barrel. Both were rough until smoothed out, and are now OK. The Ruger single six I have shoots the best but I am a little impatient for SA.
I have Ruger, Smith, Armscore, Colt Python, Colt SAA, Taurus, and Rossi revolvers. All different chamberings. The older 6" Taurus and Rossi .357 revolvers I have are very smooth. Probably better than the Python. Each is different. I think the older guns have been smoothed out by use. (not...
I use small bottles of various paint from the hobby store. Mix and match. They all come off with acetone and a Qtip. The hobby store sells dinky brushes.
To answer the OP: Nope. The 1911 IMHO will be around for at least another century. I have a Springfield Mil Spec, just because. It isn't my favorite pistol, but it isn't going anywhere. I like my Sig P220 DA/SA better and carry it often. The SA 1911 platform is acceptable to me, but for me...
I have both the Sig P239 and P229 in .357sig. They are both a "blast" to shoot. I guess the P239 could be considered a compact since it is single stack, while the P229 is probably considered a full size since it is a double stack. Both of these guns have a clean chin, although the P229 can be...
