IMHO, the safety on the P07 is very slim and for me was hard to engage/disengage. I installed the decocker and it was fine. If looking for cocked and locked, go with the 85/85C/75SAO/SP-01.

Another option is the Zastava M77PS. It's an AK chambered in 308 like the Vepr. Classic had them for right around $550 with two ten round magazines.
