If you could have only 2 knives?

A Demko edc, even in the AUS10A guise is a joy to carry and use. The locking mechanism is fantastic. One-handed opening and closing is simple with a little practice. That and my High Road 10-year anni knife for field dressing a white tail or an axis, and I'm good.

    I'd rather have a _ than a _

I'd rather have a Ford Model A than a Model T. I'd rather have a Ford Model T than a similar vintage Chevvy I'd rather have a Savage takedown lever gun with rotary round-counter than a JM Marlin lever gun I'd rather have a JM Marlin lever gun than a Henry lever gun I'd rather have a Henry lever...

    Dependable pump shotgun

Agreed to a Wingmaster, IF IT FITS YOU, or if you can reasonably make it fit you. That concept about hitting what you aim at is a good consideration, too. One nice thing about the SuperNova stock system is the adjustability that comes in the box (shims), to allow the stock to easily custom fit...

Are there any new sets of eyes seeing these questions, with info?

Recommend an inexpensive pellet or bb pistol

P17 is great; there is a light tune/fix on line to smooth a few interior edges on the mechanism. Easy do it yourself, if you choose to do it. Very satisfying to shoot IMO. Mine lasted 3-4 years, but for $30, worthwhile.

    Sentimental Guns

This is a "gave a gun" story. My now son-in-law called me back when he and my daughter were dating. He lives 3 hours away but said, "Sir, can I come down to visit with you?" Yep! We decided to go dove hunting, his first time, and he used my "guest gun" a pump 12g. NOTHING was flying. Right at...

    Why would I want a .410

Does anyone else like seeing the words, ".410, 870, dove, quail, limited out" all in one sentence? That made my night. A .410 side-by-side is the BMW R65 of shotguns. Short frame, handy, maneuverable, reliable, fun. (Never should've sold that motorcycle!)

    Seven-Million New Shooters...

Seven Million New Shooters... Thanks for a positive, logical angle on the ammo situation. That's a reasonable explanation to define the initial "boom" that started an avalanche.

    KelTec P32

A business acquaintance of mine has his Class III license and has a wide variety of firearms... the P32 is what's on his person. He is a fan, and I highly respect his opinion. So, I have one too. No muzzle flip, all 7-8 on target. "Mouse Gun", sure, but this caliber worked pretty well for the...

    Savage Model 99 / .410

Ha! Same here. Apparently the 410 barrels are tough to find. Lots of google searching hasn't brought up much detailed info though. Just wondering, if you find one, which I've yet to do, onto what 99's does it fit? Stay tuned, we can both find out.

    Savage Model 99 / .410

Three questions, if you have knowledge please: What is the going rate for a .410 barrel for a Savage Lever 99, barrel only? There seem to be two sizes, 22" & 24" - does it matter which one buys, for different models or calibers? Is there any model (old, newer, takedown) caliber (.22HP, .250...

Atmosphere at the Tulsa Gun Show

Above is the Federal Reserve "M1 Supply of Money" chart. Things have tilted upwards lately, and as a result they've recently stopped updating the chart! To answer your first question, I do not see ammo as currency, other than trading around with people in the hobby on a limited basis.

The smooth river rocks are still affordable but those jagged tactical rocks, have you seen the prices?

Atmosphere at the Tulsa Gun Show

If one puts ammo on a site like GB and starts it at a penny with no reserve, then fair enough. The price ends up where the market says it should be, on that day.

    Portable shooting table

Yes, it is stable and adjusts nicely... mine is a different brand but is the same design, it folds flat. Got it at Cabela's 7-8 years ago, it has a nice storage case with carry handles and pockets on the front, and it's been a good value.

Using a single action in .45 Colt would put you right up there with John Wayne.

    Frightened & Defenseless

Glad everyone's okay. How about finding a well-reviewed local woman who teaches beginners' gun safety, and how to shoot? Give your sis a gift card as a present for that instruction. If after the class she still has interest, you can look at next steps, like helping her sample different firearms...
