Sell or keep the Colt Python???

My dad bought me a 4" Python when I graduated FLETC and since it was just a little over two weeks ago it was a Christmas present, too. It shoots beautifully. It was made the same year I was to boot. It's in maybe 95% condition with barely a turn line. I'll never get rid of it.

    Contemplating a "combat" revolver

Almost perfection, the only thing I would change is the finish. I love the bead blast but would go with IONBond or Melonite instead of bluing. It looks beautiful, though and I'm sure you love it.

Slug Changeover for the Mossberg Pumps

Think you can do it on a two-way range? Probably not. The way you lose 2 rounds is a gross motor movement, and if you are under serious stress the first thing you will lose is fine motor skill.

Do any service people still carry revolvers?

I wish I could, but my agency does not allow it.

The Judge as hunting back up?

I forgot to add, it astonishes me people who carry a firearm for any kind of defense would not take the time to educate themselves about the implications of carrying that firearm and how to properly use, and make the best use of it. Clearly anyone who believes shotshell that won't come close to...

The Judge as hunting back up?

OK, well ... since .410 isn't even that great for birds what makes it a viable solution to larger, more complex and dangerous animals with thicker hides and solid bones?

The Judge as hunting back up?

And? If you don't incapacitate the attacker what's to stop him from killing you? What if he is armed with a firearm that's actually useful for defensive purposes and shoots you with a round that actually performs well? What if he has a knife and cuts you open from head to toe? Or what if he...

The Judge as hunting back up?

Protection against what? A wild flock of rabid Dove? It probably wouldn't even do much good against that.

    M9 and US Service Pistols

Yup, you learn what's issued and learn how to use it the best. That's how I'm becoming an HK fan, learning the P2000 and actually I love how it fits my hand and how well I shoot it with the LEM trigger. I had and sold an M9. I'm absolutely drooling over an M9A1 at the local gun shop for a...

38 spl +p soft lead bullets for self defense

No, Platt and Matix murdered and maimed multiple FBI agents during the infamous Miami Shootout because LSWCHP didn't work. Matix was struck in the head and neck with two rounds of the "FBI Load" +P issued ammuntion and was able to eventually get back into the fight. I just figured I would point...

38 spl +p soft lead bullets for self defense

Hornaday Critical Defense has suck engineered right into it, they purposefully try to get less penetration out of the bullet. Penetration to disrupt the central nervous system or to cause enough tissue damage to facilitate rapid blood loss is the only thing that reliably stops an attacker. To...

    How do they get caught?

So he's a U.S. citizen and he crosses out of and into the U.S. illegally? That's weird. You know, if he's a U.S. citizen he can legally re-enter through any of the ports of entry along the border. Strange indeed.

How are the current S&W 686's? The current crop?

    The S&W Model 29 is a .44 Magnum. The 27 is the other N Frame .357 Magnum. ;)

    Real Life Double-Strike

In the police academy we are trained to do an immediate action drill - tap, rack, bang. Second strike capability is useless to me.

Doing some CLEO sign-off research. Anywhere in the US, who got their CLEO signature?

Sheriff Gee in Hillsborough County will not sign off either, nor will Chief Castor of the Tampa Police Department. :(

    WWI-WWII era high powered revolvers

I read that article as well, and it pissed me off. Taffin is usually pretty good but he gave Sharpe too much credit and Keith not enough credit for the .357 Magnum cartridge.

    cylinder residue, 38 vs 357 ??

This is flat out incorrect. Research the .38 Special and .357 Magnum cartridge history.
