    Trigger Issues

"Snap caps and dry fire practice. Maintain sight picture before, during and after the trigger pull. I recommend a couple dozen pulls every day for a few weeks. __________________" Agreed. I upped the ante a bit with my dry fire practice by doing this exercise. it smoothed out my trigger pull...

$.17/rd 9mm russian steel at sportsmans guide??

"Most of the ranges I frequent do not allow any ammo which attracts a magnet (projectile or case). That, combined with the fact that I can load .45acp for .12-13 per round (without casting my own) gives me very little reason to use any Russkie ammo." My range disallows it too, but on occaisions...

    "Cold Dead Hands"

Pro gun control families won't watch it, but will complain about the content. 2nd Amendment advocates will stop watching it the moment they either catch a whiff of an agenda other than their own, or a writer uses the wrong terminology for something (maybe calls a magazine a clip, or a cartridge...

Congress voting on plastic gun ban

it just extends a current one banning guns that don't contain enough metal to trigger X-ray machines or metal detectors. The law was originally signed by President Ronald Reagan and was renewed by Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, passing Congress with broad bipartisan support each time.

    OK CZ82 owners.....

Ah, man, that's too bad. I hate it when things get moved to the back burner that way. Well, the '82s of the world have waited this long for you, they can wait a little longer. Good luck with the truck.

What is the "nicest" gun you really hated?

My "nicest" gun I hated was also a PPK in .380. It was a beautifully maintained Interarms PPK,and I had none of the mechanical issues you had. It fired reliably, and with relative acuracy. It was more of an issue with the way it fit my hand. It kept catching me at the same darn spot on my...

    OK CZ82 owners.....

I read at the original CZ Forum, and the word there is that one should not allow just any gunsmith to disassemble the CZ82, either. Make sure that anyone who intends to, say, refinish one has actually successfully reassembled this kind of pistol before allowing them to disassemble yours.

    OK CZ82 owners.....

The feel of the grips was one of the primary reasons I purchased the pistol. I spent a portion of an afternoon with a Walther PPK a while back, and decided I like the form factor, but the grips on it hit my hand in just the wrong place, over an over, and beat the heck out it. So I looked for a...

    OK CZ82 owners.....

I am very, very, extremely happy with my CZ-82. Grips are, in fact, available for it. http://shop.cz-usa.com/P-19103/Grips-Cz-83-Plastic.aspx as well as hand made grips by Marschal and Grips4U. CZ-83 parts fit it. Sights are adjusted by putting in either a higher or a lower rear sight, using...

    german maker's prototype: K98 - the knife!

It does call to question just what people do think a good or great knife design is, though. I saw this recently at my LGS, and the integrated thumb rise and finger groove made it look interesting and very usable for everyday tasks. Of course, I'd have to handle one for a while to make a...

What non-firearm weapons do you have?

For thirty-seven years I have studied martial arts from people who believe and teach that toy swords make toy swordsmen. So, all of the below are full steel combat-ready versions, with which I have trained combative technique. Single and double Chinese Plum Blossom Broad Swords. Gim . Chen...

Revolver Picture Thread of All Time

OK, I'll join in, This was my first handgun, Taurus 82, 4 in. heavy barrel, bought it surplus ($179). It is Brazillian police trade in, evidently owned by a sweaty guy who never fired it, but did clean it. Outside had some rust and some pitting, but the inside was pristine. Gives me five...

For the same reason that I have a jack and a spare tire in my car. The plan is not to use them.
