need a good straight-up defensive wheelgun.

I carry my sp101 all the time, It's my main carry gun. Nothing against the S&W in the least, it is a great gun. I just prefer the ruger. As for the crimson trace lasers, I love them too. They work great and never had a problem of any kind. Hope this answers your questions

44 mag desert eagle recoil less than revolver

I have owned and shot both in .44 and the Eagle seems to be a bit less recoil because it is heavier. BUT for hunting you might want to check the rules on the barrel length. I don’t really hunt any more, but once upon a time the barrel had to be at least 6in. ( I think ) if you wanted to hunt...

    45 Cowboy load's

The lighter recoil will come from the lighter bullet. I had my .44 bullets poured at 117gr. using around 5.7 grs of trail boss powder. Not sure about the powder weight but thats close with out going to look.

    Waterfowl shotgun

I cant speak for the rest of the guns BUT I did not like the 12ga. 11-87 auto that I had. Bought it new when they first came out. Beautiful gun but the shot lost most of it's power during the shell ejection. It didnt make any since but wouldnt go thru 1/2 in. plywood at 25 ft. My 20ga. went...

Just purchased a .44, reload info needed

From what I have read, you are getting some really good advise here. Something you may want to check into. I use the Tasco Pro point scope on my 44mag. It is not magnified at all and thats what I like about it. With a hand gun I can judge the distance better and have a better field of view...

    Good gun stores in NC.

Check out JR's gun shop in Albemarle. I have been going there for over 10 years and havent found anyone cheaper on their prices. He does not stock a lot due to it being a VERY small store. But he can get anything you want with in a few days. His number is 704-982-8305 and he is closed on...
