    Lyman 5A scope

In one of my trades I acquired a Lyman 5A scope that was used by the military for snipers from WWl thru Korea on the '03 Springfield and Ml Garand. This scope is in good shape with mounts and clear optics. What is the value of this?

    Bought a Rossi 357 SS 6"

Rossi 971 .357 I have a Rossi 971 that has the smoothest trigger pull ever. Also, if the rear sight (plastic) breaks, you can replace it with a S&W J frame sight assy (metal). Mine was broken, so the price was almost a "giveaway".

    S&W J Frame

I was minding my own business, when my son-in-law calls and says there is going to be an auction near him. Since I have a C&R I looked the inventory over, and this was in a holster and showed some pitting, but I bid on it and a Mod 10, and a couple of others and won. The bid on the Reg/Police...

    S&W J Frame

It doesn't show in the photo in #8, but there is a notch in the backstrap. I don't see patent marks on the stocks. The ser# is stamped in the right stock.

    S&W J Frame

Thanks guys. It has the ser# on the front strap, coil spring ( modified I frame ) and, as shown a .38 Special will not chamber, so is in .38 S&W (as marked on bbl ). Any thoughts on value?

    S&W J Frame

Upon further review, it is an "I" frame. pre "J" frame.Has the short cylinder that only accomodates the .38 SZ&W. The only other info I have is that is "post war".

    Rossi revolvers?

I have a Rossi 971 in .357 (don't know age, aquired in trade). The action is as smooth as any Colt, or S&W I have. The rear sight blade was plastic, and broken, but a S&W rear sight fits, and is all metal. Your milage may vary.

Must be getting old since I am thinking of reducing my small collection of handguns

It's Time. I'm 73 and just inventoried my collection. I don't shoot much any more and have a couple of favorite CCW's. So far I've found 110 guns (there may be more scattered about). So I decided to sell most of them. But I keep coming back to the question of "why do I have so many?". The...

    A Tale of Two Hi-Powers

Estonian BHP Since everyone is showing off their "New" BHP's I thought an "Oldie But Goodie" would be in order. Pre war 1938 Eastonian contract, tanget sights, EV on backstrap with shoulder stock slot. Has German holster, 2 wa104 magizines.

    Rossi 971

I got one on a trade that had a broken rear sight. Replaced the sight with a S&W L frame (?) sight that fit right in.(Rossi has a plastic notch blade). That gun has the smoothest action of any I have, including Colt and S&W. Who would a thunk it.

When did the Colt Anaconda become a $2,000+ gun?

Colt made a hand fitted line of revolvers, unsurpassed in quality. The crafstmen who would spend hours fitting each part to perfection are gone. They won't be back. Now, CNC machines take their place. If you want a "Production" gun there are thousands to choose from, however if you want a...
