glass bedding: question on releasing agents

FWIW I did a little test using the Kiwi and Johnsons wax. IF you use the Quick JB weld it will get hotter than the longer cure version (seems like).I used JB quick, and the Johnsons was a little easier to remove the metal part (scrap 2x2 and saw cut aluminum scrap-same pieces used. ) I have...

For a hunting rifle what would be your choice of only one hunting rifle?

    270. good for smaller vermin ( 130 gr.) up to moose/elk (150 gr). Flat shooting. Not quite as common as the military-but better ballisitcs. And you can usually find ammo now a days.

    Savage 99 club...

I have a CF model in 300 Savage. My father gave it to me as my first deer rifle when I was 14 (that was 46 yrs ago). I had killed about 40 deer with it, untill I decided I wanted some more range (Ruger M-77/270). I must say that I hunted soo much with that old Savage, and shot lots of rounds...

    Gun Cleaning

I have tried/used many products in the last 50 yrs or so. Lots of good products out there. My favorites for bore cleaner are Hoppes # 9, Otis. For triger mechanisms Gunslick graphite/grease. For slides on autos Mil-spec/dry lube. I probably have used 20+ different bore lubes. What I don't like...

Need help choosing a 22 mag handgun

I have a S&W 651 in 22mag-stainless, for such tasks as well. While not cheap, it shoots very good and to look at it this way-mine is worth $300.00 more than I paid for it new, so you should not loose any money. Keep it several years and it gains in value-providing you don't beat the hell out of it.

    Why isn't there a demand for a short/low recoil/affordable .50 caliber pistol round?

Because if you can't get the job done with a 45, a 50 cal probably won't matter either. Shot placement is the key. A cool shooter with a 22 is more leathal than a poor shooter with a 44 mag. Although I think 45 ACP is proven , a 9mm is more than sufficient. depends what you shoot better, not so...

What CCW gun for my gf?

Just my 2 cents. I am a 1911 guy-but I carry a Kahr CW9 9mm . My wife can operate it ok and it is easier to shoot than the S&W 642 38 she owns. If you end up carrying the same brand/type sidearm-so much the better... what ever that may be, as long as it is 100% reliable and handles good.
