I'm suprised this thread has gotten this long. Oleg owns this site, and he is kind enough to let all of us hang out here with him. He asked us all very politely to watch what we say. I think that is the least we can do to show our appreciation.

I checked out the threads on bladeforums. There is a wealth of info there. I think Im going to go with the Spyderco Sharpmaker while I keep on practicing hand stones. Thanks for all the info.
I plan on using the knife for everday chores, so it could be cleaning a steelhead one day and cutting tape the next.
The main reason I am looking for a small blade is to keep the overall legnth down. I work in a paint store so I dont want to scare the little old lady buying house paint...
All of the knifes I currently carry are folders. I would like to try a small fixed blade. I think I want a 2 1/2 to 3" blade and would like to stay in the $70 range. Whadda ya think? Thanks in advance.

I do sales for a paint store. We sale automotive, household and industrial coatings. I do custom airbrushing as a sideline. I'm trying to decide between a Glock 19 and a Sig 225 so for now the only thing I carry is a pocket knife.
I stopped by a bodyshop one day to do a service call and they were working on a truck that was hit by a 22 round falling back. It made a decent sized dent in the roof. Don't do it.
