What is the last gun that you bought?

SIG P232 for the wife. Gunbroker.com purchase. Picked it up from my FFL last Friday. Hope to get to the range with it this weekend!

Positive Experience with Guns and Ammo Superstore

Thanks for the tip, Cump! I've never been to the site. My online ammo purchases have been confined to Ammo To Go. Sound like a great bunch of people. And you can't beat free shipping. I don't buy thousands of rounds. So a $20 shipping charge means that it is less expensive for me to purchase...

GOOD Aftermarket Grips for Ruger SP101

I just want to see how the Pachmayr grips attach. Is it asking too much of the company to request installation instructions? I have been in sales for most of my adult life. I don't tolerate poor customer service. And I don't tolerate lousy product.

GOOD Aftermarket Grips for Ruger SP101

After being admonished for my being hyper-critical over the poor quality of Hogue Monogrip for my wife's SP101, I was hoping that someone could recommend a decent after-market grip. I'm not willing to spend hundreds, but I'd gladly pay $50-$75 for a decent set of grips that actually FIT...

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

Thanks, kernel! I've had them on and off three or four times now. I'm done with them.

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

Maybe I am. I'm not asking for "perfection"; just a reasonably good fit. And that's why they're going into the trash. And, yes...I am "listening". But that being said, I'm not going to get into a p***ing match with you.

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

Perhaps I AM being hyper-critical. Thanks to all for your feedback. I'll just throw them in the trash and move on. That being said, in my opinion, tolerating shoddy quality merely encourages companies to continue providing c**p product. Again, JMHO.

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

I guess I could - if I wanted to go out and buy a Dremel (it's certainly something that I should have anyway). But what really ticks me off is the fact that this thing is labeled specifically for the SP101. I shouldn't HAVE to Dremel it to get it to fit right!

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

Hi Jim & thanks. Ours are the rubber grips. Hogue tells you in the instructions not to overtighten the screw. But it seems to me that no amount of tightening improves the fit. I can't say for certain that the improper fit would be a problem. But neither can I say that it would NOT. I'm just not...

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

I've seen comments on other boards, as well as in comments on Amazon, regarding the fit of Hogue Monogrip on the Ruger SP101. Some people rave and some others have indicated that they've had problems with proper fit. I'm in the latter group. I bought a set for my wife's SP101. I was excited...

    Ruger sp101 blew up

Thanks. The Hogue is going into the trash. Chalking it up as a $16 mistake. I've made worse.

    Ruger sp101 blew up

Savageman: I'm new to the forum and this is the first that I came across your thread. Echoing the sentiment of others, I am glad that it didn't run out any worse than it did. And I think that Ruger's resolution speaks volumes for the company. I noticed from your photo that you had Hogue grips...

    A range day with 9mm's

Like critter, I have a SIG P938. I've only been to the range with it three times. But each time, I am amazed with how well it shoots. Wife and I are meeting at the range tomorrow after work to try out her brand-new SIG P232. I love the way it feels in my hand; like it was made for me. We may...

Anything new in shower stall mount holsters?

The title of this thread certainly caught my attention. It got me to thinking that, perhaps, I should think about having a pistol with me when I am in the bathroom. But the shower...??? I don't think so. The wife and I live in a 2-story house with both bathrooms on the second floor. And we...

    What is your favorite .380ACP?

I've never owned a .380 before. I've been a 9mm Luger (Springfield XDm & SIG P938) and .38/.357 (S&W Model 60 & Colt Python) guy. But yesterday, I took delivery of a SIG P232 for the wife. I really love the feel of it. I think I'm more anxious to try it out than she is. BTW...my first post...
