    no chatter about the mausingfield?

I've handled one in person. It was nice, but frankly I'd rather have a reliable source of CRF M70 actions than this.

    How good are Kimber rifles?

Is that something that can be ordered? Is it available in other .308 family cartridges like 7mm-08?

forced vibration as it relates to firearme accuracy

The vibrations most of interest are probably not the flex in the barrel. That's pretty low frequency and predictable. They matter, but you can dial them out with your sights. The bigger issue is shock waves traveling down the barrel and back that change the bore diameter and shape. Those are...

Does anyone have a TAC OPS rifle here?

You're right, my mistake. My point is not to badmouth the McMillan stocks. They're fine. My point is that there are very few practical differences between the $1000 Remington and the $3500 wonder rifle from Tac Ops other than a stock that costs a couple hundred more. That shouldn't be the...

    Cz455?

DIP makes them too: https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1189987&CAT=3600 https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1173629&CAT=3600

    Cz455?

I think the 455 is a nice rifle action, and about 80% of the barrels CZ makes are good. But they do cheap out in some key places. The bottom metal is a joke, as is the magazine well and mag release. Swap those parts out, possibly do the trigger (mine seemed OK), and you've got a nice little...

Does anyone have a TAC OPS rifle here?

Ridiculous. The stock 5R has a bedding block Bell & Carlson stock and the barrels consistently shoot well with military overrun ammo since the rifling and reamer is the same setup used for the M40s. Put the same base, rings, and scope on it and it will do exactly the same job at the TacOps at...

    What's your preference?

Even before Remington was forced by lawsuits to recall every 700 since the beginning of time due to safety and trigger problems, I would have taken the Model 70. Smother bolt operation, better safety, WAY better extraction, and better ejection. At least as good an options for the trigger too...

Does anyone have a TAC OPS rifle here?

They seem a little bit comical to me - "Ooh, look at how TACTICAL we are!". No prices on the website, and 20 different models of the same gun. Personally what they're offering would be worth about $1000 to me (I'm not seeing why I'd rather have it than a stock 5R) and I'm sure they charge more...

    accuracy of AR-15 caliber choices

A match/Wylde chambered .223 will probably give you the best accuracy. .300 BLK is a CQB cartridge, so not a lot of effort is going into accuracy. 6.8 SPC has suffered from manufacturers enlarging the chamber to try to run higher pressure loads - also not good for accuracy. .204 Ruger is a...

    M1a Super match: your experience?

In terms of scoped accuracy, I think it's much harder and more expensive to achieve it with an M14 pattern than an AR10 pattern. If you're going to spend the money, I've personally seen more Fultons than Springfields that shot lights out.

Isnt this ugly as xxxx ? New AK in the market

Of late AKs have gone from their traditional role of being less expensive and worse than ARs to being more expensive and worse than ARs. I don't see any evidence this will change that.

    considering 6.5 creedmoor ar-10 build

You're going to have a very hard time equaling an accurate bolt action with an autoloader. And whatever people may say about the RPR, they appear to be accurate.

    Best 308 rifle for 1k +-

Both of these are good options. If they offered a 1:10 twist version, I'd definitely own one.

7mm Rem Mag hunting deer ammo

It's unethical to hunt at more than about 400y no matter how good a shot you are or how good you are at estimating wind. Bullet flight times get up towards the 1s range very quickly, and an animal can move a LONG ways in 1s if it decides too. It's simply impossible to guarantee a clean kill...

7mm Rem Mag hunting deer ammo

It seems to me the question of what bullet for deer with a 7mm mag is answered by "any reasonable hunting bullet". The smaller, lighter stuff will expand more, but you'll get perfectly dead deer with Accubonds or whatever too.

Recommend me a 30-06 hunting rifle?

I've had consistently good luck with Winchester M70s, including current production. Based on your description, if you can swing the cost, I would go for the extreme weather stainless version - it's got a good stock with a bedding block, I believe Winchester skim beds it, and it should shoot...

    Sighting in

I would agree that being slightly high (between .5" and 1.5") at 100y will serve you well. A simple way to achieve that would simply be to zero at 50-75.

    Weatherby .223 Shoots Low

Wouldn't this be incorrectly folding in the taper of the barrel, and thus making both the scope and bore center-line point up? I'm still feeling like we haven't gotten to the bottom of the problem, and given the magnitude that it should be possible to find. Is the top of the reciever just...
