    CMP 22 ammo any good?

Looking at their web site, they offer Armscor HV by the case of 5000 for $405, and Winchester SV by the brick for $40, I've had better luck with CCI SV than either of those.

That is a lot of drop to max out, was that at 50yrds? Seems like the 20MOA rail would be helping bring your POI up, My Bergara has 20MOA rings and it doesn't max out till over 200yrds. the Zero MOA rail will shorten the range your able to "twist". I will be looking for some rings closer to 40MOA...

Do you guys mount your own scopes?

I purchased the Wheeler kit years ago and when I purchased it had never heard of a 34mm scope, so I purchased the pieces for 34mm when I purchased the Vortex Venom and Strike Eagle. I started "bedding" the mounts when it was mentioned here (don't know if it helps but I'll try anything for a...

    .22 Rifle Accuracy

I've had the best results in HV 22lr so far with Federal American Eagle, CCI Blazer, CCI Mini Mag, and SK High Velocity at 50yrds, something happens between there and 100yrds and only the Federal American Eagle, CCI Blazer and SK HV stays accurate, at 200 they are not dependable. Testing SV ammo...

Starting a Journey into F class shooting

Those look like your firing pin hole on the bolt face is not correct to these untrained eyes, I would check it closely and talk to your local gunsmith about a bushing

Question about the new AI cut chamber and brass. If it has grown 3gr will it now be known as the 30-33? 30cal 33gr of smokeless powder:):). Good looking rig and great upgrades, The older I get the more I prefer glass on my rifles. My only levers are a win 30-30 and a Marlin 45-70, the Win came...

    New CZ Varmint .22 LR

I've never tried Blazer, I thought the faster ammo accuracy diminished when it slowed down, I'll look for some next time I get out and try it to see if the Bergara likes it

Trimming Cases and the Carbon Ring

My next Brownells order, I will add some cerrosafe, also I'll look for a mandrel die set, this year I'm wanting to stretch out my Howa 1500 and see if I can figure out what is happening past 300yrds, (currently I'm accurate at 300 but not at 600). Thanks for the responses

Trimming Cases and the Carbon Ring

I can see some of the benefits of knowing your chamber measurements, What are the best ways to create a casting of your chamber? I see "Cerrosafe" at Brownells but pouring a molten metal through my bolt action scares me. Is there something like epoxy or a liquid JB weld that is also usable? I...

    any full size M&P users

I have a couple of 45s and 40S&W M&Ps, one has a laser, all mine were LEO trade-ins purchased at an auction for about $100 or more cheaper than Glocks ($175-225), I run the 14rnd mags and the only problems I've ever had was when I loaded some wad cutters (had more problems in my 1911s), mine...

    Gun Cart for range.

I use a modified golf cart mostly, recently I needed to carry a cooler also so I used one of the foldup wagons with narrow wheels and I think the wider wheels would make it a little easier to pull.

    7mm Creedmoor——-who’s in???

If I was looking for a new hunting cartridge, 7mm08 would be at or near the top of my list, If a custom rig I would put the AI ahead of the standard chamber, I think the 08 case has better capacity than the Creedmoor case for the 7MM and up calibers.

    A spare reload if needed

I carry a spare mag every day and often carry a couple of spare mags in my truck and always have a box of reloads in it for practice just in case I get close to a range. My carry is 6+1 and spare mags are 7, S&W Shield45, When I carried a revolver I carried 2 speed loaders or strips giving me 5...

    7.62 NATO Question

I've always tried to get close to the lands or load to magazine length for max OAL, then when reading around I ran across an article about bullet jump and they are at .050-.090, something I was always taught to avoid, I've tested bullet jump with a couple of my rifles and never went above .020...
