30mm see thru mounts/rings Sako AII

Side arm vernitrols was where I started and we were still dripping some ether, just before the total ban ( took home a few cans for starting engines in deep frigid ND weather ) When the vaporizers came out it was sure an up-grade. Remember cyclopropane, fast and deadly, whew glad that was...

BUYER BEWARE! & Scopes on the lower end $

Never forget to go to Gunbroker, type in your item description in the search engine, flip the prices to line them up and then go down the list until you find the least expensive ( price plus shipping ) and then compare that to Ebay, Midway, SWFA, etc and you'll be assured you have covered the...

Have $500, need a scope. Suggestions?

I would check out Nikon, that company is onto something with their updating the Prostaff line. The Prostaff 5s have different options for reticles, power and you get European eyebox for adjustments on the reticle, side focus, clear glass and they are well below your budget target of $500. Obj...

    Nikon Prostaff 5

Believe you will see this is no old Prostaff, take one for a test drive and then see what you think. There were THOSE Prostaffs, now there are THESE Prostaffs, IMHO worth the extra cash ( not that much, compare to VXII, Burris, Weaver, Redfield and see what you think ) a big bang for each buck...

    Nikon Prostaff 5

Ended up purchasing a Prostaff 5 4.5-18x40 (with optilock bases and rings) and am awaiting the delivery. Best price on GB was 399.99 + 9.00 S/H and when mounted and sighted in I will report back. Have never shot a "box" like people describe here and will try and do that to test the controls on...

    Nikon Prostaff 5

Nice looking set up. Thinking of getting the 18power one for my Sako 7-08, a heck of a cost savings over the Leupold, Vortexes and NF SHV series. IMO just about as good for what I do. ( do have a 3-10-42 NF SHV on another Sako and the glass is very good, but $900 vs under $400 makes you think...

    Nikon Prostaff 5

Bought a Nikon Prostaff 5 for a friend's rifle and was very impressed with the glass, adjustments and the features for just $309.00. Side focus and European style turn in/ turn out to focus crosshairs. ( I prefer this much better than exposing threads, just looks unsightly ) Sighted in the rifle...

    7mm-08 loads for a 20" barrel and a 1 in 9.5 twist

Stoney have heard that from a good friend here also. He loves the Sierra Game Kings and has used them out to 300 yards on White tails. Will write down that formula and give that a try. Seems like my barrel like the fps to be right around 2800. Thanks.

    7mm-08 loads for a 20" barrel and a 1 in 9.5 twist

Does the 1 in 9.5 lend itself to lower or higher weight bullets ? Or is it one that would work with any weight ? Now it may have already been answered here, but a beginner and trying to find answers that will save me some dollars and not have to buy many bullets and powders. The range friend is...

    7mm-08 loads for a 20" barrel and a 1 in 9.5 twist

Have a M70 and was not going to reload, just OTC, but have made a range friend who wants to help me work up a load using his equipment. He has never worked up a load for the 7mm-08 and we certainly can look at the manuals, but wondering if anyone has a pet load for this kind of rifle. Compact...

    Winchester M-70 MOA trigger.

Well I love the M70 featherweight compact's other features and not in the least upset I went with it. Every system can have a bad apple. It is still accurate and classy looking. I could have sent it back in to Winchester and am sure they would have replaced or fixed the trigger, but decided to...

    Winchester M-70 MOA trigger.

My first experience was great with a .270 M70 perfect trigger, never measured it, never wanted to, it broke clean and was not an issue on weight. Then with this M70 featherweight compact, I noticed right from the start trigger was noticeably heavy and I didn't know when it would break. Sure...

    Winchester M-70 MOA trigger.

 Anyone out there with personal info to share on the Winchester MOA trigger system. Have put up several threads on looking, buying, setting up and then shooting a compact 7mm-08. Settled on a FN Winchester for looks, positive reviews, personal experience with a M70 .270 from FN and the...

    M-70 Feather.Compact 7mm-08 1st group

Appreciate the new posts and the info and thoughts. Man this is good place to educate one's self. I am strickly an OTC bullet shooter. Just not financially feasible to set myself up to reload. But no worries as the group from the first 20 down the barrel with Hornady Interlock is more than good...
