Folks, I knkw nothing about gunsmithing. I have a Newer Howa 1500 in .223. Can I rebarrel it to .204 and do I need a new bolt too? How do I tell what contour my factory barrel is so I can get one to fit the Hogue stock it has? May be better to sell and buy a .204? Thanks

I dont know much about the old and new...but this one I bought works like a champ.

If you have static....don't shake it up. Here in NM shaking makes the static worse and you can blow yourself up. I have had arcs of static an inch long off my hands from the dry air here. Make sure you always ground to something not around the powder. You will go BOOM with static.

I bet you are right. Makeing the rounds to within .001 with the tool just messes with neck tension and you chase your tail...using it to determine if you are within and finding the cause is what it should be for and is what I use it for. Comp seaters have proven the ticket for me.

Maybe I am doing it wrong but I have never had a stuck case. I use One Shot. Put brass in a ziplock bag, give it a 4 second shot, nead the brass around in the bag for 15 seconds shaking and pour them out in my tray and start resizing. By the time I am done the cases have nearly dried...

I have the concentricity gage also. I load with comp seaters and gold medal seaters and have no problem staying under .001 on .204 and .223 so far. I think you should find out what is causing your runout and fix it before just correcting it in the gage. Using the Hornady gage to correct it...

I cant find reference to the H4350...but I see IMR4350. The H series 4831 compared to the IMR 4831 appears to be loaded a few grains heavier.

Right and it appears accurate and near max.

I use it for everything! Never had an over or under charge thrown. Dead on everytime. It is a process to clean out when changing powders but not bad.

I picked one up and will see how she works. Have 1000 rounds in it taking a bath right now. They claim you can clean a complete AR 16" upper at once in this thing.

You guys are correct...tip got loose and stuck in stem. I will clean it in a sonic cleaner and see how she works.

Chargemaster 1500...you cant go wrong on that decision. I measure everything to include muzzleloader charges in that thing!

Yes the small tip stayed in the plug tube once when I lowered the press. And I didnt notice until I checked the depth of the third round which was obviously deeper because the tip was stuck. I think again it was one that did not fall down the collet properly and sat cocked on the collet and...

Whewwwwww...someone that knew what I did a crappy job of explaining. I will clean it up good. Have you ever loaded a poly tip bullet and had the tip end up stuck in the bottom of the plug?

Yes it is for 223...it clears the seat plug, thats not the issue. The collet is cone shaped to funnel the bullet down through the hole. It doesnt rattle in the hole....it cocks in the funnel part and doesnt always seem to want to center on the hole and drop down or it gets caught at an angle...
