    Hornady LeveRevolution Bullets

I really don’t think any of them uses “special blends”. It’ll cut into their profit margin. If a run of a certain ammo uses say a ton of powder. And a “special blend” runs just a dollar more per pound (and I’m sure it’ll be more), that’s a $2000 profit loss over using an over the counter...

    30-30 LEVERevolution...you gotta try it

They say that the tips can be compressed forever and will always go "back to shape", and they're not effected by extreme cold either. The tips feel more like hard plastic than rubber.

How'd the Delaware rally go ?

Anybody here attend the Delaware Concealed Carry Conference on Dec. 23rd. I completely forgot about it till it was too late. I may be a Jersey boy, but I figure the more neighboring states with CCW, the harder it will be for Trenton to deny it’s citizens the right to self protection. Specially...

Beware the man with one rifle...

Surprisingly enough, I’ve actually thought about this........ If civilization ceased to exist and I was on my own, what would be the best gun for me to survive the rest of my life with. First a food getter..... Figuring that I’ll be on the move and wont have any way of storing or...

    Hornady LeveRevolution Bullets

According to Hornady, they loaded a bunch into a tube and dropped it 30 ft, several times. And the polymer tip is supposed to outlast any mag spring. Just got some myself. The tip isn’t really soft, felt more like hard plastic. Saw the (pulled) 30/30 bullet in a magazine today. It’s a...

    At the range-how cold

I found that my 30/30 always needs a few shots to warm up the barrel in the summer, before the groups really tightened up. Someone told me that as the barrel warms, the bore will tighten a little. I imagine it'll be worse in winter. But if you want to shoot in fridigit weather, there are...

Just found something over in Firearms1, I’d love to have engraved on the receiver...... "Resistance to sudden violence, for the preservation not only of my person, my limbs, and life, but of my property, is an indisputable right of nature which I have never surrendered to the public by the...

    Assault Weapon Recommendations: NJ

I wonder if there's a time limit on how long it may take me to get there. LOL I have friends that are gunsmiths, I may happen to be taking one over to him at, say aaa, midnight ! Wonder if they could give me any grief about just carrying the ammo ?

While we’re on the subject of the Lever guns (I think we were at one time), what are the NJ laws about keeping one in your vehicle ?

    marlin 1894 help

Got a Marlin 1894 44mag over the summer. I find the recoil no worse than the 30/30. But if you want to go real lite, they also shoot 44 specials. I use mine at the range all the time. I wanted a fast shooting, street-fighter type gun so I changed out the sights to a XS “Ghost Ring” set (#...

    30-30 loads- 150gr vs 170 gr

My Marlin 336 seems to like 170's better than 150's. Remingtons for factory but I load Win 748 @ 32.0 or IMR3031 @ 31.5 behind 170 (FN or RN) up to 150yds. Just got some Hornady “Leverevolution” (160g) that’s supposed to take that Lever up to the 300yd range. (1900fps @ 100yds / 1700 @ 200)
