Maybe a Mini - 30 would scratch your itch. I have a mini -14 and get along with it quite well. As well as all of the Ruger products I own. To bash the mini, really, if you like something else good for you, but the mini deserves no negativity.

I really wanted the M1a and a buddy of mine bought one the same time I got my DPMS. The M1a is not near as accurate but feels like it is half the weight in the hands. Just couldn't part with the extra $500 or so for the M1a over the AR10.

I have the DPMS AR10 no complaints. I put a bushnell 6500 2.5 x 16 on it, which does the trick. I can shoot from 110 gr to 220 gr. It's a hog killer.
