    Kahr MK9 grip screw problem

I tried putting the screws in the frame with the grips removed - they went in just fine. I'll try getting some 1911 screws and grinding them off. Thanks for the ideas!

    Kahr MK9 grip screw problem

I have a Kahr MK9 and a few months ago, the grip screws worked themselves loose. No problem, I thought, and I went to screw them back in - but the screws would just spin and spin. The screws looked a little dinged up, so I ordered new ones from Kahr. Still no joy - only one would go in. I...

Places to buy Benelli M3 extended magazien tube?

I bought an extension tube for my M2 made by Dave's Metal Works. Looks good, holds shells - what more could you ask for? Costs a lot less than a Benelli one, too. Do a Google search for Dave's Metal Works and you should be able to find someone who sells one.

Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm Problem

FWIW, I bought an M&P 9 (no magazine disconnect or lock) two weeks ago. I fired less than 100 rounds through it, but I had no problems. The trigger was just a little crunchy, but vastly better than any Glock I've tried. Also, the grip angle is much better for me. It's my first polymer pistol...

    Used Sig P226

Crap, even if that 226 is completely worn out, you could send it to Sig for $129 (I think) and they'll inspect it, replace all the springs, and install night sights - and it'll still be cheaper than the CPO gun! :)

Noob: First day at a range, and what a day!

I haven't been there for a while, but I think they allow steel-cased ammo at the Burnsville Pistol Range (in the rifle bay, of course). It's an indoor range and the rifle bay only goes to 50 yards, but there's no membership requirement. It's a little bit nicer clientele down there than at...

Front sight nut on Benelli M2 Tactical

I bought a set of Meprolight tritium ghost ring sights for my M2 Tactical. Replacing the rear sight was no problem, but the front sight post is held on with a tiny nut and I can't find a tool with which to remove it. I tried the smallest wrench I could find (6mm) and that was too big. I couldn't...

    Gander mountain to sell AR-15s

The new GM in Blaine has a couple of Bushmasters with 16" barrels, one Bushmaster Varminter (24"), and one of the new Smith & Wesson ARs (MP15? whatever it's called). Of course, they were away from the other guns, behind the gunsmith counter...but at least they had them. Quite a selection of...

Trijicon Tri-Power for soldier in Iraq

When I was deployed, I had an ELCAN M145 Machine Gun Optic (MGO) on my M249. It's a 3.4x fixed scope with an illuminated ranging reticle, graduated out to 1200 (!) meters. While I was a REMF and thus never got to use it "for real," on the range it was certainly handy - indeed, hitting pop-ups at...

    New ammo at AIM surplus

Anyone try any of the Guatemalan 5.56mm AIM is selling? I'm looking for some cheap practice ammo for my AR and that might fit the bill...

Scary story told by a CCL classmate: Houston, TX

I had a similar scenario the other night with the UPS guy. It was dark and I was home alone, when I heard the doorbell. None of my friends use my doorbell, so it had to be a stranger - then a second later I heard an aggressive pounding on the door (as in BAM BAM BAM!). I grabbed my Sig 239 and...

A Soldier's Load, and His Lack of Mobility

Whoa...I'm surprised no one has commented on this yet! I'm so going to try this next time I'm at drill and have an MRE handy...:D (And you thought the MRE heater was dangerous!)

    Husband doesn't like me packing!

Sounds like a bit of a strange situation - maybe there is some ego factor at work here. I think he'll come around eventually, though. At first, my wife wasn't comfortable with me carrying and asked many of the same questions. I just kept carrying, though, and now she's used to it (if not...
