Best multi tool for any/all situations ?

Leatherman Rebar. It has what I need and use the most. I like my old Gerber because my wife got it for me, but the plier handles come completely together and can intensely pinch one's Palm, so I use it for non plier work.

What type of EDC knife do you carry

It is hard to beat Buck. Recently, my son took his Marksman apart to give it a good cleaning, and he could not get it back together as the bearings kept falling out. He sent it to Buck for repair, and a couple weeks later got a mildly chastising letter about how taking his Buck apart voids the...

What type of EDC knife do you carry

My current favorite is a limited run Buck Marksman with S30V blade. When carrying on my belt, I like any of my Buck Folding Hunter 110s. For dress office carry, I will select one of my Case knives, lately it has been the RussLock with mammoth tooth scales.

    Knife making class

I did stock removal methods with some success. Heat treated in my charcoal chimney with my shop vac blowing the air, quenched in used motor oil (use a bunch...story later on using too little), then final in hot oven. Blade came out pretty good for my first...it is rough Americana woodsman is...

New California Law Requires Annual Government Inspection of Weapons?

It's not on the books yet, but the current trajectory of laws is leading towards that position. California is a mess and is not on the path to things getting better thanks to unions owning so many politicians here and the lockstep members voting lib-dem that support such measures.

Is Browning's Hi-power an improvement over his 1911 design?

The 1911 and HI Power are both masterpieces. I have both and love them both. I will get more of each. My only beef with the HI Power is its wide grip to accommodate double stacked 9mm, an issue with shooters with small to medium hands. That said, the take down and reassembly is a snap...

http://www.flyritecorp.com/ Fly Rite makes nice flag gear. The ball bearing mounts really do keep the flag from winding up.

    Advice: HD lady gun

Go to a range and rent a .357 Magnum revolver, one of the small ones, and have her shoot it loaded with 38 SPL low recoil loads. The 38 SPL is still a lot more firepower than nothing at all. And the revolver is uncomplicated and not very scary. Starting a new shooter with something to...

    Gun Oil Usage

Roughly, 1 fluid ounce delivers about 600 drops. For many firearms, I'd estimate 5 to 10 drops to lube and protect after cleaning. So 1 fl oz should be good for say 50-100 lube/protect cycles. That's why many gun oils come in really small containers. Now keep in mind, a lot of lube stays...

    One Shot One Kill teaching!

While the process has some merit on a target range, I'd be concerned using it on game. If rather than that first shot missing the game it wounded the game, a good hunter would want a fast followup shot to finish things off humanely.

    Help with anchoring safe

Well then this is where you get to see if the builder ran any water lines in the vicinity of where you want the safe to go! You can leave the fake tiles in place. Put the safe where you want it, drill through the holes with a roto-hammer drill and a new bit, and then install per instructions...

legality of building replica medieval siege weaponry

Hmmmm...never even considered the legality aspect. Our Scout Troop built trebuchets and we hurled grapefruit out at least 300 feet. The kids got pretty good at getting to the targets. Mind you, those things are wicked and one needs to take the utmost caution when winding it up and loading.
