I think chieftan hit it on the head.........reloads aren't what I carry and certainly throw a bunch of variables into the pot. However, if I didn't load them up, I would have had to miss the match altogether so I chose to take a chance but had a blast doing it!!! I was impressed with the Glocks...
Generally, my reloads have been just as reliable as factory ammo. Unfortunately, I did not put allot of time into testing the load I figured for the new powder I'm using. I chrony'd it today and found that I was averaging about 760fps. I'm suprised my slide cycled at all........no excuses...
My first PX4 went kaboom after about 8000 rounds. I had a bad reload take it out and I just got a new one to replace it. It's only got 500 rounds through it but my first one I didn't clean until the 5k mark and never had a malfunction. Looking forward to seeing how it does. I just want to see 20...
Any trigger time is good trigger time. You'd be suprised how much people can learn from each other at things like this. Besides, what's wrong with a bunch of shooters getting together and slinging 1000 rounds downrange?
There are videos form last year on youtube and Google video. Do a search for Texas State Championship or CCIDPA.
Although it was a bit muddy, it was a great match. I enjoyed myself immensely and not only placed, but won a pistol and two table prizes. Talk about beginners luck. Looking...
The finger grooves are made by Farrar and slip onto the grip before teh panels are mounted. The panels are a special edition Cat Pak issued by Beretta starting in 1999.
I was stationed at Chanute AFB, Il. for my technical training. It's closed now....so is the town from what I've seen passing through a few years back.
Yeah, I admit I should be shooting alot more than I have been. I'll make up for that this week.
I've had my PX4 for a while now and actually like it more than my Beretta 92. Although there's a big difference when you cycle the slides on the two, the PX4 feels good in the hand and with a loaded mag, feels similiar in weight to the 92. Accuracy (for me) is better with the PX4. At 10yds I put...
Wow, no CHL? I need to move there!! I was stationed not far from there a while back and all I recall were corn fields.......... BulletTrap is nice enough. Kinda pricey as far as ranges goes, but not bad. If you're in town again, gimme a hollar and we'll go recycle some lead.....!!!
Federal HST's are in the mag now. I've got about 30 different types i've been trying out and the top 5 rank like this:
Federal HST's
Win Ranger 147gr JHP
Rem Golden Sabers
Win Silvertips
Glasers
I still want to try out the CorBon DPW rounds. I can't seem to find them anywhere though. I...
Even with the Vertec Berettas, anything is possible. Grips can be modified like the rubber hogues or even wooden panels. The Comps are pretty cool looking but really only good for the range. I've noticed alot of the setscrew or clamp on compensators for sale lately. I don't trust them much. Best...
I haven't sacrificed anything, but i'd be willing to sacrifice my wifes trips to Target. There goes $100 every time. Seems like any time I want to go shooting, she goes to Target and WHAM!!! $100 smackers~! I try to explain that if she'd curb her spending I could buy 1000 rounds of 9mm for that...
There's alot of Texans on gun forums. I've been over at the Beretta Forum for a while and there's alot of Texans there too. Must be the great laws in this state. Just signed up for my first CHL class. Have to wait until 7 Jan. because they're full. Classes are 45 students each sat/sun. Can't...
GunMaster here in Plano Tx. is a great place. Might also try Bullet Trap, Bachman Gun and Pawn, Dallas Pistol Club. Not aware of others yet, but i'll be looking at your site to find some!!!
Maybe it actually happened in the town of VIAGRA and the guy was just really happy to see him????
What's society coming to these days? It's getting to where you can't even get quality crooks?
I'm in Plano, Tx.....more NE Tx. but I've been traveling all over the place from El Paso to Brownsville. Never know when I might pass through your backyard!! Well, not EXACTLY your back yard.....some of you guys would no doubt put holes in me!!! Graeat to be aboard!! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Yeah, I did the PX4 G conversion. You can find the photos here:

It took a while to figure out how to get those decocker levers out. Came out great though. The slim levers which I bought form Brignoli convert the PX4 to a G model and don't have...
