Gun Kote
KG Gun Kote is great stuff. It's a thin hard coat and won't look like a paint job (Duracoat is made by Sherwin Williams) but remember Gun Kote has to be oven cured and DuraCoat is air cured.
5100 Stocks
You might want to go to www.macongunstocks.net. They have all the configurations of 311/5100s and you can buy them semi inletted, finished/unfinished and even checkered. Don't forget to check your tang length, there are two different ones.
Hi. I'm looking for a hinge spring tube (spacer) and can't find one. Northridge, Sarco, Numrich and the usual suspects don't have them anymore. Anyone got one? Or, dimensions so I can make one? I'd appreciate any help, and thank you.
Savage 24
Hi. www.wisnersinc.com has parts for that gun, as does www.Jackfirstgun.com. Jack First has those hard to find extractor screws and other parts. Also, try www.e-gunparts.com. It's cold here, too. Went down to 74 last night.
Ithaca 49
I have the 4 pages from the original Ithaca factory manual that shows complete takedown/assy. If anyone wants them, email me and I'll get them to you.
Paint Remove
I have found that Citri Strip from Home Depot will do the job and not hurt the finish. It's also the only stuff that removes polymer finishes (Gun Kote).

Gander parkerizing
Hi. I park and hot blue full time, including work for the national chains. ( I swear I didn't do your gun!)If you're talking about the bare spot on the extractor ring, it looks like it was "Squozed" in a vise to facilitate installing the extractor. Or, maybe they got lazy...
Gungrips.com
They haven't been active for a few years. That URL is just a mirror site now. Did you not find what you wanted at www.vintagegungrips.com?
Great Garand Color Debate
I hate to contradict Jim, who saved my life a couple of years ago with much needed info on disassembly of the Johnson rifle. But, I've parkerized hundreds of guns with formulas based on Army TM 9-1861, and have found that different alloys do produce different results...
