Anything new in the cylinder loading press market?

if you don't need to take the press to the range this works. just a small harbor freight arbor press.

Ultra sonic cleaner and Black Powder

i pull my revolvers down and all the parts and frame go in the sonic cleaner with water and dish soap. then a quick water then alcohol rinse. into the oven at 215f, then while hot johnsons paste wax. the moving internal parts are lubed with a syringe filled with mobil 1 during assembly.

    Needing education on inlines

you might want to start with some hornady 44 pistol bullets and 1 bag each harvester 44/50 and harvester crush rib 44/50 sabots. then see which one fits your bore best. you should not need to pound the sabot/bullet down the barrel. for 209 primers try cci 209 and 209m, both are long primers and...

is there something like the best beginner percusion revolver

i have both colts and remingtons. i go along with the rem folks as starter revolver. the uberti rem is more $ but you get a dovetailed front sight and ram keeper post. i do run powder, lubed felt wad, ball and add some over ball lard. i find it keeps the cylinder turning, after repeated firings.

    Pietta 1851 cylinder capacities: .36 & .44

i go with loads that i would use in the field or for defense. then i like a field grade trigger with no creep. my loads are adjusted for accuracy by a few grains one way or the other. that's the loads i shoot at the range. now if your shooting competition that’s another matter.

    Pietta 1851 cylinder capacities: .36 & .44

i use 25 pyrodex p in my 1861[36] with a felt wad, which is a recent purchase. 28 pyrodex p is almost level with the cylinder when poured but it compresses a lot when the ball is seated.

I think a "replica" Ruger old army would sell like hotcakes- do you?

i got started with bp revolvers because my state keeps piling on fees for guns, ammo etc. i have a hunting license but can not buy ammo to hunt unless i buy a special ammo permit? i have been handloading for more than 40 yrs, but soon that might even change. i asked around the gun club for a bp...

    1861 pietta or uberti

dd, i found a pietta 61 at friendly price. now i am looking for a brass 51 with the 5" barrel but a car repair bill has drained the pool. with the brass you get the barrel and spare parts. maybe the pool will refill by cabelas dec sale?

    Well, stripped the threads

i just checked my 1860 pietta case hardened frame. a needle file bounces off, meaning the case hardness is above Rc55, the hardness of a file. it also means that a standard high speed steel tap will not cut the threads in your frame. you might want to check your frame with a file. clean out the...

Cva wolf .50 will not group

here is what cva states. looks like you want 90-120 grains. http://www.cva.com/how-much-powder-can-i-load-in-my-muzzleloader.php

    Well, stripped the threads

the frame should be harder than the screw, huge chance a new screw will do the trick. order 2 screws, while waiting for the screws to arrive try the good one in the hole for the bad screw.
