Contact your local PD and turn it into them, after making sure it's not a stolen weapon, they will destroy it at not cost to you.

    Potential hearing loss?

After 4 years working in and around helicopters in the AF Air Rescue and going to the base gun range every chance I got my ears are bad and I now have two hearing aids. Least favorite place to buy a gun...

Gun Shows for sure. Haven't found anything to buy at a reasonable price in 3 or 4 years. Got some good tasting buffalo jerky I could munch on while going up and down the rows of overpriced weapons. The Guns of the West Show here in Arizona really brings out the camo wannabes.:banghead:

    Freaking Out About Handgun Decision!!!

Excellent choice on the Sigs, you can't go wrong there. Between the 9mm and the.40 cal I would go with a .40 sig, that will give you the option of allowing a 9mm conversion barrel to be used. Usually the .40 p229 will let you use 9mm & .357 Sig conversion barrels and the 9mm ammo is easier to...

Why no love for PARA Ord - LDA

I had a C-7 LDA Companion and I thought the LDA system is still the safest way to carry a .45. That said, the damm thing was heavyer than a brick to carry all day. Had to give it up for a Colt Defender at 25 ozs.

    Scandium

I believe the Smith&Wesson 4040PD was made out of Scandium too, at least the frame was and they have been around for years with no complaints. As a matter of fact, they are looked upon as a great CCW gun due to the light weight and powerful cartridge they fire.

    sig p229

Excellent weapon, but a bit on the heavy side for CCW. I love my 229 Elite, but can't carry it all day.

I just got quoted $65 by a local gunshop to ship a gun to my buyers FFL. I think an individual can shop a handgun to an FFL holder, but I'm sure of how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, the SIG P229 in .40 S&W only weighs in at 32 Ozs. There's your answer.

    Smallest .45

Not the smallest, but at 22.5 ozs. one of the most reliable on the market is the Colt Defender in .45ACP.
