    Case Trim & Prep...

I do the same. I use a primer pocket reamer and process all the crimped 5.56 on it, and it's consistent. I also did the Lee sizing die mod and now don't have to use the drill/drill press/hand tool routine. Should have done this before the price spiked on the Lyman Case Prep Xpress, but it was...

Before putting a bullet into the shell casing....

Same here. I use a Lee Classic Turret, and check EVERY case for powder before the bullet goes in. Just am more comfortable knowing I don't have empty or double-charged cases. Never had a squib or FTF. Better safe than sorry, IMHO.

HELP! 357 Magnum with Berry's PRN

I'm gonna use up the couple hundred Barry's plated RN that I have, and then continue to use the RMR TCFN lead 158 grain I've been using. They are great in my .38 spl loads, and I'll use them now in my .357 magnum loads, too. They're just used for paper-punching for the most part. thanks to...

HELP! 357 Magnum with Berry's PRN

They're for plinking only, and I shoot a Model 19-3. I use the 158gr RMR round nose in my 38 spl loads, with no issues on the bullet length/case OAL. thanks LFC is a taper crimp.

HELP! 357 Magnum with Berry's PRN

Bullet depth Well, I've loaded 50 rounds to test, with medium crimp from the Lee FCD, and OAL of 1.585. Used 5.9 grains of Unique for testing. We'll see how this works out. thanks

HELP! 357 Magnum with Berry's PRN

Thanks, Fred. I've loaded a few thousand rounds of various ammo, but am still learning. As long as I'm not over the 1.590 OAL (max. for a .357, as far as I can tell), then "eye-balling" for the curvature/flat-side would be okay, knowing that the velocity will decrease with less seating depth...

HELP! 357 Magnum with Berry's PRN

I have some Berry's plated round nose 158 grain .357 bullets that I was trying to load for .357 magnums. I used the Alliant recommended 6.0 grains of Unique, CCI 500 SPP's, and an OAL of 1.570. Using that OAL results in the bullets seating so far into the case that they seem to be at past...

I use the EXACT box shown there, and it even looks to be organized the same way. LOL

    Which 38 for range use?

My favorite range gun is the police trade-in S&W Model 10 I bought, and I don't have to chase the brass to gather for my reloads. The S&W 38 special is a great shooter, super-reliable, and easy on cost to shoot.

    Wet tumbler question?

I use the cheap-o HF tumbler, too, and have cleaned thousands of brass for reloading. NEVER had a problem and it's doing the job that the pricey/trendy ones do, at a fraction of the cost. I do pistol brass only, now, but have used it for rifle, too. I've switched from the Dawn+Lemi-Shine to...

    Which 38 for range use?

I snagged a really nice S&W Model 19-3, 4" blued heavy barrel. So nice, in fact, that I didn't want to use it as my shooter/range gun. Then I picked up a Model 10 police trade-in, heavy barrel 4", in a frosty nickle finish....that's now my "shooter", and it, too, in in really nice shape. I...

    38 special loads

Have you used HP38 with .357 magnum loads? I have HP38 on hand, but am getting ready to load some .357 magnums, and wondered if I should get some Unique, and some magnum primers, to do the .357's.

    38 special loads

38 spl loads I also load the 9mm with HP38, and now am happy with 3.5gr of HP38, with a 158 grain SWC's in my Model 10 and Model 19's.

    hand prime vs press prime?

I prefer the feel of the hand primer. I actually bought a couple of the OLD style Lee hand primers, just in case I broke one. I don't like the newer Lee hand primers (Ergo-prime, etc.). I never use the primer on the LCT press.

19-3 I couldn't figure out how to attach the picture to my earlier reply. Here's my 19-3

    favorite 9mm powder

I use HP38/W231 for the 9mm, and also for my 38spl/357 magnum loads. No issues, but because it's fast-burning, the case doesn't have much powder filling it.
