I own an Anderson 20 inch bull in 5.56. It is very accurate, but very heavy and especially front heavy. I also own a Armalite SPR 20". With the same ammo I get virtually the same accuracy without the extra five pounds of weight.
A .308 will be even heavier.
In my opinion, if just one rifle...
Wanted to follow up on my OP. Thanks for the input from everyone. I emailed the Smith and Wesson seller after thinking it over and offered cash. It was in the amount he asked originally. He ended up backing out, which more than likely means he got a better offer elsewhere.

My little brother has a Taurus Judge. It's currently out of service after only about 500 rounds of factory 45 colt. I can't speak for Rossi quality. I would advise you to find a good used SW686 or a used Ruger GP100. The Ruger will probably be less expensive and a little stronger.
