Bring the gun but don't advertise. No one needs to know what you're "packing" for the trip. Keep it with you in a backpack.

How about a .30-.30? I picked up a nice '68 Marlin 336RC a few years ago for $225 in a gun store out in the country. I love it. It's about the handiest rifle around, and would seem to check a lot of your boxes.

Presumably S&W quit making the 386 NG due to lower than expected sales. If that's true, why didn't it take off? I think they're pretty cool, but I'm not a big revolver guy, so I'm looking for some perspective from revolver aficionados. Why no love for this pistol?

Did the study differentiate between regular private owners and dealers that own their inventory? For instance, Mr. Hyatt here in Charlotte owns Hyatt Guns, one of the largest gun stores (inventory) in the nation. Does he count as a gun owner? If there's a trend to be observed it's...
Come on, you guys! "New" to me means unblemished. Presumably you didn't buy it as a scratch & dent special, so if I were you I'd return it and get what you paid your hard-earned money for - a new, unblemished gun! Few would accept a new car, cheap or expensive, with a big dent in the driver's...
I only ever see commercials for guns, ammo, and related gear on outdoor networks. Why never on the traditional networks? The number of gun owners in the US is huge, and yet the tv advertising spend seems so small. Weird.

I wish you luck on the project! It sounds very interesting. I'm looking forward to hearing about your process. Good luck!

So I was thinking about some of the surplus corrosive ammo I have and it got me wondering:
A. At what point were "non-corrosive" cartridges introduced by manufacturers?
B. Were all cartridges produced prior to this "corrosive" in the same way that common vintage milsurp stuff is?
C. What...
I haven't confirmed this story myself, but it's being reported that Academy Sports is taking ARs off display, supposedly out of respect for the Orlando shooting victims.

About ten years ago I wanted to add a Glock to my collection and went to an LGS I had done business with before. I stood over an impressive display case containing no fewer than 25 Glocks and attempted to negotiate a fair deal, but the owner's son said of Glocks in general, "I can't really move...
I think my pal is inclined to go for a Bushmaster XM-15. I have no experience with them, but they seem to have generally positive reviews. Can anyone offer insight on that rifle?
