    School shooting in Finland

Hunting with handguns is not allowed in Finland but when used at trapping they're OK and to my understanding quite popular at that (easy to carry in backpack, lightweight and when equipped with suppressor not harmfull to hearing)

    Finland Unleashes Rabid Gun Control...

If memory serves me right Saari got the gun about one month before the incident. It was his first gun. He was questioned by the police about his shooting videos on youtube one day before, but apparently they found the videos not to contain material that could be used to cancel his gun license...

    School shooting in Finland

Finnish prime minister proposed that weapons used for target shooting should be stored at range  . Hunting weapons could still be stored at home "becouse them aren't so easy to conceal", wonder when they get to ban hacksaws :banghead: .

    School shooting in Finland

It seems that the incident may actually have a negative effect on the finnish shooting sports and hunting, as the government is seemingly raising the age needed to get the firearm license. To this day a fifteen-year-old has been able to apply for a firearm license with the permission of his/hers...

    HERESY: I hate the Ruger 10/22 !

Hey, 10/22 may not be the most accurite nor reliable .22lr semiauto oout-of-box out there but for a tinkerer, like me, it's great! It's fairly simple design, you can tweak it to work OK easily, trigger job's easy and replacing the barrel with a better one is super easy. The real essence of 10/22...

    blackpowder gun to get

Well, I bought my first percussion revolver (Rem. 1858) at the age of 17 and while they have their own tricks they sure ain't "too much hassle" for a beginner IMHO. Especially not when you can discuss your possible problems here! I bought a Kentucky pistol few weeks ago and while it's real...

    Traditions Kentucky pistol

Yes, I did remove the barrel. I guess the lock just sits in the stock quite tight? At least the barrel did. I wonder if the trigger pull is better to be reduced by reducing the spring power or by stoning the tumbler (hope I got that "tumbler" right)? Edit: And thanks for link to those...

    Traditions Kentucky pistol

Got a Traditions Kentucky caplock pistol some time ago, have shot maybe 20 rounds through it. I like the overall finish to be quite nice for the price but the trigger is horribly heavy. My questions are: how do I get the lock out of the stock (I tried removing the two screws on the left side and...

Can a black powder firearm be used for home defense?

So, how is it, was it common in 17th-18th centuries to load muskets and pistols with two or even more round balls?

    Astra .357

I did search about Astra .357 revolver but I'd like ask some things anyway. What is the overall quality of the gun like? I'd be able to get one for a good price but can't really decide, to buy or not to buy - that is the question. Gun looks like if it was new, no scratch, no wearing on bluing...

    My Rig to Date

Is it? Damn, there must be something wrong with my eyes. I thought it looked somewhat, um, violet? Mine looks like this in certain lighting. Well you folks tell me now what is it. That finish. Plum Brown?

    My Rig to Date

Hey, there's the color again! The frame! What's the finish on the frame? Anybody? You see, few people's claiming that my Remington is some weaky-creaky do-it-yourself kit, and they're claiming that 'couse of the color of the frame of my Remmie. So, what do you think?

    1858 remington modification

I saw Bottom Dealin Mike's Ultimate Remington article at SCORRS web page and I'm interested on the finish of the frame of the Remington he has modified. The frame's color is different from the barrel's. Do you know what the finish is or what it may be? Interested I am because my Remington has...

    1858 remington modification

Shortened my Remmies barrel to 6 1/2" yesterday and I think it's lookin' pretty good at that lenght. Making that dovetail for front sight isn't easy, maybe I practise few more and then cut the barrel to 5 1/2 (even if it might look a little unbalanced then). Could someone give some advice on the...

Question about Cleaning A BP Revolver

Dis/assembling the Remington isn't really difficult at all, just look when disassembling the gun how the parts are. When I got my Remington I first dis/assembled it few times and now I could do it easily while blindfolded. Very simple thing that Remington.
