IIRC one set of bullets had no hole in the bottom of the brass but instead had a hole all the way through the bullet. When the cap went off the smoke from it would come out the end of the barrel. Maybe I'll get some time around Thanksgiving or Christmas to look for it.
So no one else still...
Most of the nickel plating looks like it will hold up ok and looks good. It is already chipping off the barrel wedge and the cylinder arbor (places that can't be seen without taking it apart). They left some burs on the gun and just plated it over them. I sure don't think it was worth the...
Well I picked up the real thing from Cabela's...now I just have to dig around in my parents garage to find the cap gun. I might put a conversion cylinder (which I would have fluted, gold plated, and use a wood rod to knock out the brass) in it to make it more like the cap gun...
Thanks!
This is exactly like it:eek:
See how it loads like a single action...
I'll have to watch that auction to see how high it goes.

Update
I talked to my mom the other day and she said it is somewhere in here garage. Having parents that are pack rats comes in handy sometimes.;)

I will post up pics if I ever get a chance to dig around and find it

From what I have heard they can now...
I left the stock (and forend) on my 870 when I blued it using Oxpho-Blue. The factory finish on the stock is not so great where it meats the receiver and the end grains of the wood are just about bare...
I didn't even think about what it would do to the wood...I just blued it. I can't tell...
I used Brownell's Oxpho-Blue on an old 870 Wingmaster of mine. ALL of the bluing was gone where the slide was and the corners of the frame were all brite. While the Oxpho didn't make it look brand new like sending it out would...it did get it about 90% there for very little time/money. My...
As a kid I remember playing with one of my dads (born in '47) old cap guns when at my grand parent's house. I don't know what ever happed to it...
At any rate it was a VERY REALISTIC replica for a toy...however it was a cartrage gun. The basic frame was die cast and chromed. There was a...
