My wife's fave shooter is our S&W Model 10, a k-frame (medium size) with a four inch barrel shooting .38 spl. cartridges. It's simple, reliable, and carries enough mass to control recoil forces.
Now that she's been hitting the range regularly for about a year she is competent with the S&W...
I've had good results with a product called Leatherique on automobile interiors that have been severely damaged by exposure to the elements.

Every 9mm full-size 1911 I've ever encountered has had both of these issues.
There are two ways to deal with the first: One is to just load to one less round than full capacity. The other is to lock the slide back before inserting the full mag. This issue ought to resolve itself as the mag...
By all means, let us know how that turns out.
You may find it's a bit tricky to shape the bottom loop so it holds the mag's foot plate in place. Took a little heat and several tries.
I'll add a vote for the BMT tool, pricey as it is.
In my mind, the key to using moon clips is to have a pile of them so I can load/unload them while sitting in my easy chair watching the TV. At the range I don't spend a lot of time unloading and reloading...using my revolver is just like...
I have a pair of Walker's Razor XV-8T. They're plug style and electronically augmented so you can conduct conversations and hear range commands. They also have Bluetooth capability that pairs with my iPhone. Not very hi-fi so music isn't very good, but they work fine with the telephone.
When...
Yes, this is not an uncommon problem.
Some people get relief by closing the magazine feed lips down to around .310 - .313.
I've done that. I also lightly hand-polished all the friction surfaces between slide and frame (especially the disconnector ramp in the slide), as well as the barrel...
Nonsense, Alfons. Any competent custom gun builder will be able to fabricate any replacement part(s) that may be required in the future and from the same material spec and to the same level of craftsmanship as the original.
Won't be cheap, but such services are certainly available.
Walkalong: somewhere in the sparse documentation for either the Tripp or Wilson ten-round 9mm mags (I have both and can't remember who recommended this) it says to fill the magazine to max capacity (ten-rounds) then put it away at least overnight and preferably for two or three days. This...
I've fired 1,100 rounds through my Kimber Stainless Target II (9mm) using the Wilson ETM gen 2 magazines without a single FTF. I only shoot 124g plated or FMJ ball ammo, though.
I've got a Target Stainless II in 9mm. I've run about 1,500 rounds through it since I bought it last September. I had some minor issues with extractor adjustment on the first day, and since then it's been superb. Nice shooting and consistently accurate. One of my fave shooters.
