Any shot you want: Three Centerfire Rifles for all big game, globally

Well. I don't have experience with some of these cartridges, but assuming one is able to reload to tailor specific cartridges and availability wasn't an issue: The OP's question of hogs through cape buffalo's and elephant? .300 Win Mag .375 Weatherby Mag .458 Win Mag For a much more...

    Left hand rifle/right handed

Howdy folks. I have considered getting a compact little .243 for a while, with the Ruger American compact being one of them I have looked at. There is a place running a sale on them right now (stainless none the less) but they are all left hand models. Has anyone who shoots right handed ever...

    Ruger 10/22 trigger group

I don't mean to toot my own horn, and I know things no great accomplishment at all to 99% of you guys, but it is for me. I volunteered to clean my mother-in-law's 10/22 (2013 manufacture.) I got it home, and started the take down. I got the trigger group out, and for some reason I decided to...

    Idaho/Montana Hunting?

This too is my dream. Somewhere out west. Montana. Wyoming. Heck even the western Dokotas or western Nebraska... But that seems like a dream to wait till I am an older man. If ever. I hope you get your chance.

Need opinions on my next scope.

While I think that's a low power for coyotes, if you are wanting a large FOV, I would check out a Vortex. They make the Diamondback in a 1.75-5 and 2-7. With a $350 budget, you could probably actually move up the lineup to a 2.5-10 Viper. My only gripe with Votex is that the eye relief is kinda...

    17 hmr?

You won't regret it. That's what I have, except with the heavy barrel. Mine really likes the 20gr CCI game points and the 17gr Federal Vmax. Keep an eye out for then bulk packs of the A17 ammo for a good price too. That shoots pretty well also.

    Burris scope help

How's the eye relief on on higher magnifications on the Fullfield? This will be on a .270 LA Savage for the time being.

    Burris scope help

Is there anyone here that can tell me the difference between the Fullfield II and the Droptine scopes made by Burris?? I've looked at the specs and I can't for the life of me find the difference. I know the Droptine is priced alittle lower than the Fullfield, so presumable it is slightly...

    Bushnell vs Barska and Others..

The Bushnell Trophys are pretty good bang for your buck. I prefer the XLTs over the newer ones though. The Bushnell Drop Zone with the .223 ballistic reticle has pretty good glass for the money. Couldn't tell much difference in them and the Nikon P-223. Just my opinion.

    Remington 700

IF I had spare spending money in my pocket, if I walked in pawn shop and saw that, I would pay $400 for it and feel like I got a real nice little deal. Just my opinion though

Info on 375-06? Anyone have one?

If you were looking for the most amount of "thump" you could get out of a standard length action, have you considered a the .375 Ruger? I'm not sure how it compares to the 375 Whelen/Whelen Improved, just a thought.

    Marlin XT 17HMR Synthetic

I have the XT-17 with the heavy barrel and wood stock. I have had best results with CCI 20gr Game points, Federal 17gr VMax, and the CCI A17 ammo.

    17 hmr?

Like I said, I love my 17HMR. That said, the largest HMR bullet is a 20gr, while the WSM seems to come in 25gr. Oh and Marlin also has a $25 rebate going right now I believe.

Is this happening at just select Walmarts, or all of them and my local store just hasn't put new price tags up?

    17 hmr?

I have a Marlin XT-17 with a heavy barrel and wood stock. Thing is crazy accurate, even with someone like me behind the trigger. It is the funnest rifle to shoot I've ever gotten my hands in aside from lever actions chambered in pistol cartridges. Mine seems to like Hornaday ammo the least...

Season started up today (I guess yesterday) here in TN. I however have absolutely 0 interest in going through the woods when the heat index is in the mid 90s.

    Leupold VX1 Scope

Absolutely. The VX-1 at a tick under $200 is a darn good scope for the money. A VX-2 for a tick under $300 is an amazing scope for the money. To get a scope 5% better than the VX-2, you'll be spending twice the money.
