I load mostly 120 Ballistic Tips, 120 TSX, and am going to pick up some 140 Accubonds. The 120 B-tip has been a great bullet for antelope and mule deer. my son also has 2 elk from his 7-08 using that bullet.
The other advantage that the .280 has over the 270 is that you can use the same bullets in 7X57, 7-08, the 7 mags, etc. With a 270 you don't have that flexability. Even if the ballistic advantage is slight, it is still a ballistic advantage. - Denny
I would look at the .280 Remington over the .270 if you reload. The advantage other than VERY slight ballistics, is that you can use the same bullets in others 7's like 7-08, 7 mag,7STW,7X57, etc.
I've had an HP, a Toshiba, and a Canon A620 for use with Ebay. The Canon is by far the best of the 3. The HP was quirky and the Panasonic had nasty color shifts, generally to red, that had to be fixed on each pic. A real PITA. The canon has good a good macro mode and a 1gig SD card holds a gob...
There wouldn't be a problem if the cat-lovers took responsibility for their pets. If you enjoy your cats so much, enjoy the whole package and keep them from cr@pping in my garden. Cleaning up after them is part of the deal. Same goes for your dog. By the way, I've never caught a kid or a raptor...
I bought a 7-08 for my son but didn't like the flex in the fore-end. We used a Dremel to remove the lattice work and epoxied about a 10" length of 1/2" X 3/8" aluminum keystock in. Then drilled and tapped it for the sling swivel. It stiffened it up well and the gun now shoots 3 shot clover leafs...
I would look hard at a Savage in 7mm-08. They shoot great and not much recoil. I think the 06 is a great round, but it does tend to cause a flinch as a first rifle. 260 is another good option.
