    pictures of range targets

This was my test shots for my ar15 .223, 55gr Hornady boat tail bullets, using various loads of XBR powder. While using sandbags at 100 yards. All the brass was annealed and of the same lot numbered were used. The top right was my best charge at 24.0 gr. Five shots for each charge, no scope...

You can always build your own Annealing machine. I built one a few months ago for about $100 bucks.

RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure keeps doing me wrong

I would like to add this. While using the powder measure, and you feel a slight hang/change in the feel while dumping the charge into the case you are cutting a grain of powder in half which will make that charge +\- different. When I feel that glitch in the handle I automatically dump that...

    Need a hand held primer

I found the RCBS old style hand primer ended ALL my primer problems. With the old style you will need a shell holder for each caliber you load.

Does slack in turret head get cause untrue reloads in turret press?

I’ve had both old and newer ones. From time to time I’d have to take it apart and clean and lube it. Check the center bolt/nut for tightness, it should take alittle effort to move it. With it lubed and tighten the movement should go away.

Does slack in turret head get cause untrue reloads in turret press?

Do you have the dark colored press or the orange colored. On the darker one it has an adjustable bolt on the backside to take up the slack. On both styles, you will need to take the T-head off and clean it. It has a spring loaded ball bearing w/indent that should be cleaned and lubed, by...

    rusted rock chucker

I'd let it soak in a five gallon bucket of vinegar for a few days. It will eat any rust or old grease off the press. It will take about 4 days to clean the rust off. After washing off with clean water, dry off and re-lube the press. I found this method on YouTube, it works.

    loading for 1:7 short barrel

Try using the bipod with a small rear sandbag. With my 16" AR, I use front and rear sandbags. I had similar problems using just the bipod even with a mid-level scope.

    Lc 223 crimp removal.

RCBS makes a "Swager Tool-2" that opens up the primer pocket, without removing any brass. Used on a single stage or turret press. It processes both large and small primer pockets. After processing a lot of brass you will know what needs to be processed. I've reemed thousands pieces by hand...

    First time reloading

Thou shall keep thy reloading bench clean. Thou shall not take thy neighbors brass. Thou shall clean thy brass and pockets. Thou shall not mix thy pistol or rifle primers. Thou shall always make notes. Thou shall do ladder test. Thou shall not overwork thy brass. Thou shall not over...

I have the APP called "Nikon Spot On" for the iPhone/iPad made by Nikon. I'm able to change the settings on the go.

Super weak neck tension after resize

Your necks maybe hardened and springing back out after sizing. I'm into anealing about every 3rd. time I reload my cases. My case necks retained the same size as my expansion ball's diameter. Be careful in polishing the expansion ball and not go to far. .221 to .222 what I look for. No crimp...

    hornady 62gr fmj-bt

I'm in the process of finding right combinations with these bullets, out of a 16" barrel 1-8 twist. I'm using 8208XBR and CFE223, so far I'm not seeing anything I like. For me I'm seeing just under 2" @ 100yards. My next tests will be up .5gr and .7gr. Hornady 55gr V-Max. Is my goto load in...

    Finding accuracy Windows

As a rule in ladder tests, is to start low and work up the load. Never go below listed min. or over listed max. I weigh each powder charge when I'm ladder testing. Myself, I make 5 to 10 rounds per charge weight. Then up the charge weight by .03 of a grain from the previous charge. Along with...
