    Another Gun Belt Thread

Rafter S Gunleather -- not recommended I've gotten a few leather products from them in the past and been very pleased, but this last experience has been bad. I ordered a belt in mid-February. They charged my credit card immediately. I have never received the belt. About once a month I check on...

    Man, Oh Man!

Berdan Primers I have a few hundred I would give away, if someone could figure out how to get them. Which is a BIG problem. I'm in Juneau, Alaska, and it is virtually impossible to ship them. Not sure how many or what type. They're all in original packaging. In fact, they are quite old and...

The Mr. Nightcrawler Trilogy: Book I

I scanned the last few pages, and didn't spot if someone had consolidated this story into a document as yet. Someone have it that could either post a link or have available to email? With appropriate approval, of course! :)

    Please promote corneredcat.com

CorneredCat.com I teach a women's-only handgun course locally, and for the last two classes I've included Pax's website as a highly recommended Internet resource. I also recommend Firearms Academy of Seattle as a training resource for those that want to get more than the basic handgun class.

    Colt .357 Magnum

I'll pass the information along. He was ready to part with it, and is looking for a Remington 700BDL or Ruger M77 in left hand, 30 06. Or, may take cash. :) I'll try to get a couple of pictures up.

Yup, just like that one! :)

    Colt .357 Magnum

I wish I had noticed the serial number on this one. I may take another look. I'm fixing the friend's Olympic Arms AR (cam pin and firing pin were both broken), so I'll get another chance. From what I can tell, the revolver was probably made in the 50's. It appears they were last made in 1961.

    Colt .357 Magnum

I was at a friend's house this evening, and he brought out a few rifles and handguns to look at. One was a pretty nice Colt AR-15 SP1, A1 complete with a pencil barrel and 3 prong flash suppressor. Pretty interesting, but the eyebrow raiser for me was a Colt double action revolver with a 6 inch...

    30mm vs. 1" tube scopes

Good point. I hadn't considered that the mechanicals would have to be bigger. Not only would there be a greater range of adjustment, but that means more weight to those parts. More inertia on those parts during recoil. Hmmm...

    30mm vs. 1" tube scopes

I'm looking for a lower power variable scope, and am leaning towards either the European (30mm) or standard (1 inch) 1.5x4 Leupold. Both have the same size ocular. What advantages might he 30mm tube have? I would think the larger tube would gather more light, however, that might be offset...

LASIK and Shooting -- My Experience

Hey Remander! Well, how'd it go?

What's the easiest firearm you've ever disassembled?

I'd have to agree with the P-11 for the pistol. The only rifles I've completely stripped to the last ball bearing have been a Mauser Ms. 420 and several AR's, although I've mostly stripped a Garand. They were all pretty easy.

Best guns, holsters and techniques for left-handers?

The P239 is 9MM, and the P229 is .40 S&W. I bought both used at separate times, so pretty much took what I found. I think I paid $415 for the P239, and $450 for the P229. Both were very lightly used and had extra mags, so I felt fortunate to get them. I like the extra round in the 9MM P239 vs...

Best guns, holsters and techniques for left-handers?

Welcome to THR, Law Enforcement! Good to meet you. Whoa, I'd never consider myself an expert on recommending what you, or anyone else MUST do. I make observations about what works for me, and try to explain why. For instance: * If the controls of any handgun are predominantly on the left...

Another ignorant act of Negligent Discharge

Obviously the manufacturer's fault. No magazine disconnect safety or loaded chamber indicator. Bet it was a Glock. :) (Oh, never mind...)

Anybody else BEEP when they walk into...

Reasonable It's interesting to hear the discussion of what we would consider reasonable for detaining someone, or reasonable use of force when leaving a store (probably with stolen merchandise), which is private property open for public access -- then consider what we might believe reasonable...

Good Karma--9 mm LEE Carbide Factory Crimp Die

Sign me up! I like Lee dies. Their expander rod on the .223 Remington I feel does a better job that using an expander bead. And, the Lee factory crimp die is very useful.

Clint Eastwood film about Iwo Jima: Flags of Our Fathers

Yes, read the book. I doubt it will come out too much in the movie, but the story of the naval bombardment (or lack thereof) is infuriating. So many American lives lost due to criminally incompetent Navy brass. Just read it. The battleship as a weapon platform took an undeserved black eye, too.

    Post your .45ACP pics

Repost I can't edit my old post (#270) to get the pics back up, so am re-posting. (Mods - feel free to delete if not appropriate to re-post.) Here are almost 90 years of 1911's. Upper left is an Augusta Armory rebuild model 1911 with a Springfield frame and Colt slide. I think the frame is...
