Well I ended up finding some 12 gauge Hornady Monoflex loads. Hope it doesn't take a lot of shooting to sight them in. I missed the window for the Federal Trophy Copper load but lucked into the Hornady shells.
I don't have a real preference as I have slug guns in both gauges. I use whichever one I can get the slugs it is sighted in for and lately 20 gauge has been getting the shaft.
I got a good deal on some Shooters World Multi purpose Black. Have to say it makes accurate loads, never hangfires and gives good enough velocity. The best part is how easy it is to clean, amazing. Use Orange windshield wiper fluid and don't look back.
I have one shotgun that shoots buckshot good enough for maybe up to 40 yards and most of the others I would call 30 yard guns. I base this on preferring all nine 00 balls to pattern on a 9 inch paper plate. It works well and I sometimes use it when hunting from stands I made for bow season.
Factory ammo is so hard to find as are 200 grain round nosed jacketed bullets I just started casting bullets for my 35 Remington. Lucky I found 2 very good loads and the rifle will be in the stand next time I go out. Is the 35 Remington corelokt ammo you used loaded with the "new" version of the...
Regs for upcoming hog hunt on a federal wildlife refuge are kind of tough to make happen. Oddly the muzzleloader was easy, Hornady Monoflex saboted bullets I found almost immediately. Already worked up a good shooting load. 90 grs. of Shooters world Multi Purpose Black pushed them to less than...
It would seem they can. What is the purpose of the 2A? I thought it was to be the backbone of all the other amendments. It is not about hunting it is about resisting any attempt at our rights being taken. The first amendment is the preamble to the use of the second amendment. When discourse...
In reality this is a first amendment issue. Section 230 actually protects whatever forum from being liable for what posters say. It is meant to allow individuals to block or screen materials they don't want children to see not the forum moderators.

Going to use my 350 Legend as my summer truck gun with feral hogs and raccoons as the most likely targets, some in traps. I think it will do just fine.
I have been loading and shooting a Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel for a while putting some 180 rounds through it and modifying it to suit me a bit better. I have played with the 123 AMAX, the SST, the ELD-M (to 2550 fps) and the 140 grain Sierra Gameking(to 2350 fps). The rifle produces groups in the...
Well I used the Nikon because it is a light compact scope compared to many others. My real use for this rifle will be and is hunting at ranges generally under 250 yards with the vast majority of shots being at night on feral hogs. I am waiting for Leupold to send me the scopes I sent in to have...
I tested the 123 grain ELDM black box stuff yesterday. It was a bit windy but I learned a lot in 20 rounds. First three rounds with my scope set at 6x hit just right of center 1 1/4 group. I resettled and improved my shooting position and rests, the wind was gusting up to 25 miles an hour and...
My method of the rifle handgun ammo quandry is to search for and to find a cast load that runs 900 fps in the pistol. The first thing I try is to run the bullet as cast, usually quenched wheelweights. This will give me around or maybe less than 1400 fps in the rifle. Working ammo for both guns...
Not scientific, my 243 with any bullet in my workups almost always makes POI rise. My 7x57 will put bullets of 160 down to 140 grains, with the same powder charge and all bullets will hit within 1 inch in elevation! It does kick more with the 160's. So I have no solid answer for you.
If it is a centerfeed action the magazine lips are not far enough forward for reliable feeding sadly, well it would work ok with just one round in the magazine.
