Mossberg 500 Shotgun Disassembly Guide by Mini-Me

Great detailed instructions and pics. Please if anyone is substituting a full stock for a pistol grip or a Shockwave on a Mossy 500, be aware that the bolt that holds the stock on is a different length on pistol grips. If you use the bolt for the full size stock on the pistol grip, it will break...

    Colt SLR 30 ought 6

Yes they keep it in a glass case where fiddly fingers cannot touch it. It has been in there for close to two years now. I have watched the price go from 9500 down to 7200. If I had the money to buy it and flip it I would, the temptation to want to keep it would be too strong. It has that...

How much cheaper can AR parts get?

Usually you get what you pay for, but sometimes you pay more for what you do not get.

    Questions on inherited M1A

I believe Springfield M1A super matches and M25s had a rear lug welded on, in addition to the two front lugs.

    Windham Weaponry underrated

When Remington bought Bushmaster and moved the facilities from Maine to New York, many of the Bushmaster employees choose to remain in their home state of Maine, and started Windham. Windham is more like the original Bushmaster than the current Bushmaster, now owned by Remington.

Non-Colt AR-15's- When did it all start? "Old timers" chime in.

I bought my first AR at a sporting goods store in Baton Rouge in 1979 for $295. They called it a CAR 15. It was made by Colt and had a 16-inch chrome moly Barrel and a telescopic stock with the round handguards, no forward assist.

This rifle looks to be very similar to a Browning BAR. It is like new in a presentation case with extra mags and leather sling. What is it worth?

    Arsenal AK Quality?

I have the century milled AK with a 10 inch barrel. Not very accurate but it will devour the steel cased ammo all day long without a hiccup. The factory trigger is so light it is scary and it is one heavy brick.

    AR Upper/Lower Receiver play.

Yes sir. Hey gunny if I still lived in Saint Gabriel I run over for a cup. I had a 45 series 70 Colt stolen out of my pickup truck in Denham Springs about 30 years ago where everybody used to party on the Amite river under the Florida Boulevard Bridge..

    AR Upper/Lower Receiver play.

Exactly and the zip ties just eliminate the annoying rattle and do not degrade accuracy in any way, and the zip ties bother me less than the rattle did. Now it's rattle free and just as accurate. Now the rattle that was just in my brain is nowhere, it is gone.

    AR Upper/Lower Receiver play.

I thank you Mistwolf and someguy 2008 for recognizing the problem is sloppy tolerances in the production but as we all know most AR15 have it. That's why I have three LMT's with no zip ties. If anyone needs zip ties send me a self-addressed stamped envelope and I'll send you a few of them along...

    AR Upper/Lower Receiver play.

Oh so now you think an AR-15 is considered a precision rifle from the factory without being reworked by a qualified armorer? Yes it does not position anything upward it positions it together. First of all you need to remember the planet is a sphere. What is up to you here is down to somebody in...

    AR Upper/Lower Receiver play.

Zip ties go on the outside of the receiver not the inside and yes sir I am aware that a fully loaded magazine inserted putting pressure on the bottom of the bolt does take out some of the slop, however the Magazine spring will give more and provides less resistance to eliminating the rattle than...

    AR Upper/Lower Receiver play.

What time I recovered a big four wheel drive out of the woods it had big fat tires on it. It could not be towed all the flats even though the road was mostly sand because it kept wanting to track to the side that had the flat tire in hit trees, so I jammed about 25 to 30 pieces of Tire string...
