Reloading .380ACP - First Time Question

I am very impressed with your thoroughness and attention to detail! There's one thing early on in the process of Designing an experiment that I force myself to do. That is to write down precicely the OBJECTIVE, what am I trying to do with this trial? Otherwise, how do I know if I accomplished my...

    300win mag 190smk and 180accubonds

Thank you for taking the time to share this. I have just a few comments. Looking at measures of variation (i.e., SD & EV) with small subgroup size (as n = 3 to 9) has very low confidence level. Looking at the average speed is helpful in seeing if you're approaching the published maximum speed...

308 WIN 1st Loads - Do You See Any Issues?

******** 1. What's the objective? Write this on top of your sheet. 2. Unless you're going to load as you shoot at the range, design a ladder trial on a form and assemble ~5 rounds/each treatment. 3. Agree as other responders, don't need to chase getting close to lands; only for refinements...

    Phil Sharps reloading manual

Hello SavageLover, Wondering if this version is the one from1937, 1941, or 1949's Third Ed. (which was revised and enlarged)? Looks like it is in excellent condition! That would be great for completing a reloading collection. Thanks and be safe out there! BTW, Merry Christmas and happy...

Can you substitute same weight bullets in load data?

Charges are slighly different for solid copper vs. Cup & core bullets. (Not even delving into bearing surface differences.) Need to start ~10% from max. Be safe out there.

    .38 vs. 357

Good question. Short answer: the 38 Spl case is shorter than 357. Leaves fouling in revolver cylinder that may/will interfere with the longer 357 case. So if shoot a lot of 38's first and then don't clean, it MAY be an issue. You want the bullets to released from the case the same each...

    .38 vs. 357

One frequent process is to load some 357 to shoot first (just to retain mental picture of where POI is if using for personal/home defense), then switch to much more pleasant shooting 38 for lion share of practice. This way the carbon ring won't interfere with 357 case, by cleaning post-practice...

    Buying powder from friends

Ya don't look a gifted horse in the mouth. My God. If it doesn't smell bad and consistency looks like the particular powder should, snatch it up! Dicker on price 1st, just so he doesn't get 'Seller's remorse'. Good find and stay safe.

    Mixed headstamp vs single.

Good practices for rational subgrouping: 1. Arrange your subgroups so as to capture as little variation as possible within subgroups. [A subgroup is a group with all one factor, in your Case "headstamp". What you talking about (i.e. groups of five) that is considered a “subgroup” size.] To do...

    Primers - Again

In early nieve loading daze, did ladder using only SPMP, bc published data didn't specify! And cartridge is 'MAGNUM'!!!! IKR!!!! Was OK, but w/ H110 got some very high fps, but no high pressure signs. This was S&W mod 66 4" barrel. Used 2400, Unique, H110, & Titegroup; 158 gr GDHP. Hope...
