I killed a doe with my 1911 using a 200 gr Hornady jhp over a +p load of w-231, got a complete pass Thur and the hole was about the size of the bullet was not impressed at all lol but I was lucky because the bullet got part of the heart. The small doe ran about forty yards before passing away...
If Varget don’t work the way you want it to try w-760. I just worked a load for my rem 700 using a165sst over 57 grs of w-760, it’s not the same bullet but it’s similar enough for start. I was getting a little over 2850 with a 22” barrel and good accuracy. Good luck
Reloads all the way for me I use the same brass for practice as I use in the match. It gets shot several times before a match and it still has a little life left but it don’t bother me to leaving it lay, but I have more confidence in it after using it.
30 HRT made from 6.8 brass shortened a little and necked up to 30cal for the ar platform.
277 wlv made from 223 brass kinda like the black out but a little longer case, using 277 cal bullets for the ar platform.
I shoot 200 gr. swc the same ones I shoot in my 45acp but I'm shooting them in a 3" judge which they hit better as far point of aim. Lol there's always a odd ball in the crowd.
I've had very good accuracy with 44.5 grs of re-15 using the Sierra 165 gr. SBT in four different rifles. Haven't tried going any higher I just stopped when the groups got tight. Have killed several deer with this load.
I've been using sport pistol for over a year and on my second eight pound jug. I can only judge by the outside of the case because I don't wet clean but I can say I use use 4.2 grs with a 124 gr f/p 1.070 oal rmr bullet and the case comes out looking about like it did going in the gun.
Thanks Captcurt for you info I've had some 125 accubonds loaded up for my 30 HRT that's traveling right around 2700 fps,I was thinking that they may be a little on the hard side for the vel. but if the 150 grainers is doing that kind of damage that leads me to believe the 125 gr accubonds should...
I made and adjustable bar so I can slide it in and out to work with any loading generally I just slide it out enough to just charge the frist thirty of a fifty round loading block.
I ordered one seem like I've seen these of a different brand for over twenty bucks. It didn't charge me any shipping so it was eleven dollars and some change total. Might need some tubing but I think I have some out in my shop.
