What would you guys say is the maximum distance away from the lands, if such a thing exists? Like anything .005" away, .010" away and any more than that is pointless for example. Or does such a thing not exist?
I was thinking about the necessity of adjusting seating depth across a broad range of depths and if there is any point if I'm using a fire formed case with a Hornady OAL gauge. If I get an exact measurement for a CBTO after putting the case in the chamber and that gives me my "max" CBTO, is...
I've had both, I'm sure you can read through the past several pages of anecdotal experience and draw a couple conclusions. Here's my take:
Hornady AP : Better die system with the LnL bushings, better ergonomics with the outside support bar being offset to the right, so you can see what's going...
Was curious what you guys think is the best software for analyzing the data? As in shot group and ballistics.
I've got reloading studio which is great for record keeping, but as far as I can tell, there isn't any actual data analysis in it.
I need to clear up three stations in my Dillon. I really never liked seater/crimp dies to begin with, but was kinda forced to get one since I got a Mr.Bulletfeeder. Long story short, I still don't really care for them and the results I'm getting, so something has got to go. So station #3 will be...
Looking for some people who have set up a camera as a powder check. I’m think I’d rather go that route than a check-die. I’d like to hear what you guys used and what what you would have done differently if at all.
I'm coming off the Hornady LnL AP press, but got tired of it being so fiddly. I got it half off through Cabela's so I can't complain how well it's worked considering how much I paid for everything.
Anyways, with the new rig, I was wondering what are some must-have sensors and upgrades?
No matter how much I adjust the decapping die down, the primer will "hang" and get wedged into the drop tube. Usually a little shake of the shell plate will release the primer letting me complete the down stroke. The shell plate isn't advancing forward prematurely so I know it's not that. It's...
That's kind of my thoughts too, which is why I posted this. Wanted to see if I was missing anything that could be done before the first firing of some fresh Lapua Brass that didn't feel like such a waste of powder and bullets.
From everything I read, not based on any personal data, but you should be FL sizing all the time, just neck sizing has kind of become a thing of the past.
Was curious is it considered worth it to work up loads on brand new brass before it's been fired, given that it isn't fire formed to the chamber of the rifle at that point?
I'll give the weep hole idea a shot since it can't hurt. But I actually have that mod you talked about, it seems to have helped, but I still get cases stuck
So I continually have a problem where the case will get stuck somehow under the case feeder plate. It doesn't necessarily happen at the mouth/drop, but that tends to be one spot where it tends to happen to most. But I've had it happen else where sometimes before the mouth/drop and sometimes...
