Ahh, mine have caps over the adjustment dials. The zero is set via moving a c-clip under the dial so that the gap in the c-clip is right below the 0 in the dial. Then the cap goes back on. I'm a set it and forget it shooter so I don't touch it after that.

I've got a fullfield ii 2-7x35 so not sure if that counts and a vx-freedom 3-9x40. What features are important to you? The ffii seems like it is quite robust. I believe it is a single piece tube as opposed to two piece of the Vx. Eye relief is decently better on the Leupold. Not that the ffii is...

I know a lot of people aren't into the browning high gloss stuff but I am such a sucker for it. Gets me every time. Same thing with the high gloss Weatherbys and Remington bdl's and whoever else still makes em. Love it. But as far as investments go, meh, most guns bought new will depreciate...

Leupold freedom was $169 on prime for 3-9x40 last time I checked. Can't beat that price.

I had this same dilemma one year ago and personally was drawn towards the classic polished blued steel and wood. Ended up getting a new BAR MKII Safari in .30-06 and it is sweet. Real soft shooter for a .30-06. Thing is a pig though with a scope on it. Just traded for a like new tang safety M77...

Ended up going with the Leupold QR rings and bases and I think I'm better off, these things are neat... Turns out the Browning base (Made by Burris) I had was out of spec. The Browning rings worked fine in a seperate one piece mount made by Leupold

The VX-3i series is the other main series I was eyeballing. How might that 2.5x fare for those up close shots? Too much magnification for up close is my main concern with that one. Also, firedot or duplex?

Got to shoot it yesterday. What a smooooth shooter. Recoil felt like shooting my 1100 with bird loads. Went and got a throwaway scope to put on there until I can afford a Vortex razor HD LH 1.5-8x or 2-10x.

I think thats what it is... I've always loved the looks of A5s. I have no need for any more shotguns so this satisfies that itch I suppose.
