I had a 1984 Remington 700 BDL, 270. I use to shoot one Inch groups at100 yards from a good rest. It was my deer rifle replacing my Marlin lever 30-30. Never ever a problem. I just pasted it down to my Grand Nephew so it will continue to be used in the woods. It was a great rifle for me.
Just went through all that. My single actions were too heavy. Sold my Ruger 3 screws, kept a Ruger Super Blackhawk just to have one and now am carrying Smith and Wesson 38 air weight double actions. Perfect fit for me

Have a Marlin, (Jm), 45-70. Having used 44 magnum in Blackhawks I prefer the 45-70 for big game hunting. It isn’t a long range cartridge but the 44 mag isn’t either.
Had to pull my Blackhawk twice. Just the click of the hammer cocking on that big barreled Gun changed their minds. I wish they weren’t so heavy, I’d still carry one. My friends always got a kick shooting those pistols that started with a 4.
