Help with price of Browning A5 20ga.....

I'll echo Kentucky...that is way low for a 20ga Mag. Buy it, or you can let me know where it is...

    H.S. Precision Stocks

Remington 700P has them, and a slightly different version on the LTR. Some Winchester M70's had them as well, but they are not as common. They are truly nice stocks. Their rifles are nice as well, but a little too pricey since you can get a full blown custom for the same money or even less.

    Foulton Armory or Springfield ?

I would go with LRB, Fulton and SA in that order. That is, unless you can find an older SA with all GI parts. You also could get a Poly or Norinco, and do the bolt swap if needed. You would get a forged receiver with one of them, and upgrade to GI parts as you can afford them.

Replacing a "cheap" feeling Savage stock

Detrious is right on..do yourself a favor and get a stock from SSS (Sharp Shooter Supply). Awesome stocks, and you can find one to fit most any situation...very well made! I've had B&C stocks, and like them a lot, but they don't compare to SSS's stocks.

    Need a Soft Shooting Semi-Auto

I would buy the one that fits best. $400 more is well worth it to me, if the gun fits me very well. You will be well served by any of the 3 you have selected.

Sounds good! I'll have to get an M1A from him when he releases it.

    Need a Soft Shooting Semi-Auto

The gun with the softest felt recoil, IMO is the Xtrema II, with the Browning Gold/Winchester SX2, and the 11-87 close behind. I have used 3.5" shells, but really don't need them. 3" steel high velocity loads (around 1550 fps) will work great. I like 2's for ducks, BB or BBB for geese (but HV...

    Pattern Master choke-anyone tried it?

I have a PM choke, but have only used it with steel shot. However, it performs quite well for me, used for certain applications. It sounds like the choke was working quite well for you as well. I don't think I would try it with slugs, though. A good rifled choke would work much better.

    Advice on Charles Daly

The semi autos suck..don't waste your money. The others are pretty good for the money.

    Accurate Innovations

From what I have seen, if he has plans for one, it would be the distant future. He's still trying to work on adding more bolt action stocks. I would be interested to see what he says...but I wouldn't count on one.

    New Savage

What do you need to know? It's a Model 12 Long Range Precision Varminter. It has a HS Precision stock, is a single shot, heavy 1" barrel, and available in .204, .223, and .22-250.

They are beautiful, well-made gunstocks with a bedding block in them. If one is in the market for a nice wood stock that will hold zero, this is it. Really nice guys there as well.

M-14 vs M-16 a heated debate on which is a "better" rifle

I guess you need to come over and explain that fact to mine, and many of those I have shot...not "accurized", just plain janes that shoot less than 1MOA. I will agree that many do not, but they do come close. I would much rather tote a 14 than a HK91, especially if my life depended on it.

    Silly Garand misconception.

BTW MBS: Military M14 could be select fire, but most were modified to keep them semi-auto. Civilian models are almost all (with just a few exceptions) semi-auto and most are still called M14. M1A is SA's model of the M14, and not always semi auto.

    Ruger Mini - 14

If I had a choice beween a second hand AR or a new Ruger, the AR would win every time. If you are seriously concerned about the condition of a used AR, have a smith or knowledgeable friend along with you.

semi 44 mag carbines -- any other than Ruger?

I have been impressed with the older .44 Ruger carbines I have shot. Mine with a 3x scope will shoot 1.5" groups @ 100 with Winchester white box 240gr -and my kids shooting it. Keep it under 100 yards, and it is a good brush gun.

    M14

An LRB with all GI parts, built by one of several top-notch M14 builders. The LRB receiver is about as close to GI as possible, since it is forged and not cast.

    Which M1A do I choose?

It depends what you are after. For you $2000 ceiling, you could easily get a National Match, and would be very close to getting a Super Match. You could get a loaded and have a lot of cash to play with accessories and get magazines and ammo...or the Socoms, depending on which one, range in...

    Remington 700 Rifles

The SPS also has a rough finish, much like the Remington Express shotguns, while the others have a smooth finish. I would pay the difference, but it depends on your pocketbook and what you place importance on with your rifles.
