Ruger SFAR 20” - Rough Chrome in Carrier

Not even that. I own a lathe, and have operated others. If a part is removed from the chuck then replaced, unless it goes back exactly as it was, right down to the same pressure on the jaws, it will not be centered. The interrupted cut will cause the results you see.

Ruger SFAR 20” - Rough Chrome in Carrier

I'll bet that bore is oval. To me it looks like one cut was made, then somebody else tried to re-chuck it and make another cut.

The term is even older than that. "Qua Libra" is Latin for what weight (balance).

    Crosman 1400

One of the hardest parts of resealing one of these,,,,is carefully pressing the pin that holds the pump in place. After that is out the valve comes out the front. Then it's a matter of a bunch of "O"- rings. I just looked through my stash of parts, no spare stud, sorry.

    Crosman 1400

Here's the manual. The 1400 Crosmans are/were US made. The most likely defect is going to be the "quad ring" in the valve cap. They can be a pain to replace. Carefully remove JUST the hard rubber, DO NOT try to remove the steel washer ahead of it. The missing "bolt" is actually a stud, that...

Save yourself some money and hassle... Go to the local Pick n Pull yard and grab a car leaf spring. You'll have a decade worth of good steel that'll take almost any heat treat you want. Most automotive springs are i the 1085-1095 range.

    Chamber Re-Lining.

Odd idea. Take a 45-70 reamer to it, or have it chucked in a lathe and opened to take a straight wall .45 basic case. (unformed .45-70, 90, 120 case)

    Chamber Re-Lining.

Yes the chamber can be sleeved. Maybe Bobby Hoyt can/Will do it. If not He'll probably know who will.

After further review of the schematic,,,check the slide lock spring, pin and locking recess.

    Winchester 1897 inertia lock question

I guess I'm not understanding the problem. You're saying "de-cocking or dry firing" unlocks the slide? Any chance you are providing the "slide movement"? Point the shotgun up and pull the trigger while holding the gun one handed, to see if it unlocks. Then if it does, look very closely at...

    Winchester 1897 inertia lock question

Sounds to me like it's working like it should. The slide lock button is supposed to release the slide whenever pushed. If it locks up after it's racked, it's working right. If you can slow rack it, then open it without pushing the button, you have a problem.

    Information needed on muzzle-load side-by-side (?pre-civil war?)

First thing to do, drop the rod down both tubes. The gun might still be LOADED. Then remove the barrels. Back action locks are an indication of manufacture post 1840 or so.

    Group thoughts on Feasibility..

I do believe that's a common and simple conversion. Just keep to Black Powder loads or pressures and there should be no problems.

    Huntingtons RIP

Fred Junior is the one who decided to retire. The reason for closure is none of the younger generation wanted to take over. I live in Oroville and have been visiting Huntington's since I was a child. Very bummed to see it gone.

Another thing to consider, it just might be a LEFT hand thread. Try turning it the wrong way.

    Removing rust in a barrel

3/8" maybe, however you need clearance for the sand cloth. Or you could get 1/2" flap wheels and buy/make an extension. Both the cloth and wheels are available from 24 grit to Crocus grade.
