    Ruger Wrangler 22LR...

My Bronze Wrangler serial# 31xxx purchased in October. Over 300 rounds through it. My Black Wrangler serial# 17xxx purchased in August. Over 1,300 rounds through it. My Silver Wrangler serial# 22xx purchased in June. Over 3,300 rounds through it. So far Ruger has made over 60,000 units...

    Wrangler, first impressions

The symptoms you're describing usually indicate the cylinder base pin is not fully engaged.

    Wrangler, first impressions

Agreed currently they have made nearly 60,000 of them. It's the demand side of the equation more than a problem supplying them. Took me five months, but now I have all three. Have over 3000 rounds through my first one (silver) with serial number in the low 2000's. They've performed flawlessly...

Ruger states in the owner's manual that dry-firing is acceptable in the Wrangler.

Honest apples to apples comparison of NIB Wrangler and NIB HRR.

The Wrangler and Rough Rider can be bought here in the Golden State with no problem. There is something you do not understand about “the list”. Single-Action revolvers are exempt so are not listed. Manufacturers do not have to submit them for certification. I don’t know if that new knowledge...

Honest apples to apples comparison of NIB Wrangler and NIB HRR.

I own three Wranglers and don’t own a Heritage, but I did pick up an Armi Tanfoglio FIE TA76 yesterday, which is the gun the Rough Rider is based on, descended from, and mechanically identical to, except the safety was redesigned. Took it to the range along with a Wrangler, a Single-Six and a...

Honest apples to apples comparison of NIB Wrangler and NIB HRR.

It does get better with use, but even after 3,300 rounds through my Silver Wrangler it takes a little more effort than my Single-Sixes. Only really notice when I take both to the range.

Honest apples to apples comparison of NIB Wrangler and NIB HRR.

Same here. I ordered a bronze Wrangler in May, but took a Silver one when that was all the shop could get in. Ordered a bronze one from another shop in June. While waiting for it I stumbled in to a deal on a black one. Recently another shop got the bronze one in “for a few dollars more” so I...

QFI Western Ranger Vs Heritage RR?

Agreed. The Bearcat will not disappoint.

QFI Western Ranger Vs Heritage RR?

Can’t say for sure on Heritage now , but QFI was probably the bottom point in the evolution. I have an Excam TA76 (Tanfoglio built imported by FIE) which is the same as the Western Ranger/Rough Rider except for the safety design. My Tanfoglio appears to be of higher build quality than the Rough...

Colt Frontier Scout, yea or nea?

From what I’ve read, Ruger says the frame is A380 Aluminum while the grip frame and ejector rod housing are an unspecified zinc alloy, most likely Zamek or something very similar. They handle and shoot just like a Single-Six

Colt Frontier Scout, yea or nea?

Yes, they had threaded barrels, based on YouTube videos I’ve seen of them being disassembled. I’ve read that some of the early Frontier Scouts were not pinned and their were problems with the barrels working loose due the different expansion rates of steel and aluminum. Pinning the barrels...

Colt Frontier Scout, yea or nea?

Based on the similarities of the Frontier Scout and it’s German,Italian and later US clones, I suspect that Colt assembled Frontier Scouts using castings and other parts made for them Sauer and Tanfoglio, who would later export complete guns to the US were later sold under the FIE, Excam, and...
