    Another bite at the apple?

I once sold a Ruger No. 1 for needed money to pay bills and bought it back a year later for $50 more. I still have it.

    Beloved 30-06 Anyone?

I have owned four .30-06 rifles in my lifetime: a Remington 742 Woodsmaster, a Colt Sauer, a Winchester Model 70 w/full stock, and my current one is this Steyr Luxus.

    Model 70 Featherweight catch

I have always liked the Featherweight and if I got one, it would be in 7x57mm Mauser.

    Name that headstamp

Norma is the company that loads Weatherby ammunition. I am not sure when, maybe in the 1970s, DWM had an agreement with Speer for loading ammunition.

.38 Spl is quickly becoming a favorite

This is my 10-5 which was given to me by my FIL. It has a very smooth action! I am not sure if the lanyard loop is factory or not.

    Mannlicher stocks

Sako full stock rifles were considered the most accurate as their stocks were actually two pieces. There is a gap under the barrel band and the forward section is attached to the barrel only.

Seems time for Ruger to reintroduce the 44 Mag carbine

While I have slings on my rifles, I will carry them in my hands the majority of the time. I mainly use the sling to help steady the firearm when I have to shoot offhand. I recently purchased a Ching Sling and it works great for its intended purpose!

Ammo packaging from the good ole days.

I have a couple. The early Weatherby boxes would have different game animals on their boxes for the different calibers. The Hornady Light Magnum were rounds loaded for a higher velocity.

Refusing a gun shipped to you through FFL

My experience was not online as it was back before the internet and Gun List was my go-to publication, I purchased a rifle that was advertised as like new. However, when it arrived and I was shown the rife, it was not like new like in any way, shape or form. I told my dealer to send it back...

    Favorite 7mm?

My hunting rifle for the past few decades is a Ruger No. 1-A in 7x57. I also once owned a Remington Mountain Rifle in 7x57 and a Winchester Model 100 in .284 and foolishly sold both of them.

Whats the worst thing youve left/lost at the range?

So far, I have gotten off easy. The only thing I have left behind was the eye piece cover for my Bushnell Camo Stalker spotting scope. There is a guy at the outdoor range I belong to that actually left behind his Thompson sub machine gun! When he returned, it was no longer there, but there...
