What's up with all the .40S&W ragging?

Aren't choices great. I have reloading dies for 5 different pistol caliber, I don't want another. So don't think I'll be picking up a 9mm anytime soon. Shoot the biggest caliber you can comfortably shoot. Blonde, Brunette or Red head. They are all fun. ;)

new to revolvers, powder blowback in face normal?

I had a friend try out some 357Mag loads and he noticed the same thing. He is a lot more experience with revolvers than I and found the behavior odd. But... we couldn't find any lead shaving or anything else wrong with the piece. Tried some Blazer 357Mag 158 grain JHP with similar results, a...

new to revolvers, powder blowback in face normal?

I picked up a SP101, 3 1/16 inch, .357 Mag and wanted to know if when firing 357 defensive loads(Magtech 125grain JHP 1319 fps per the box) if it is normal to feel a little bit of hot powder being blown back into your face? The cylinder to forcing cone gap is less that 0.008 inch (smallest...

    Powders for .40 & .45

Catfish, I have been searching for the same answer. Unfortunately I do not have an answer yet. But you might want to let people know what you want to use as far a bullet, since the weight and style of bullet will change some behavior of powders. Also the barrel length will have an affect on...

    Olympic Arms

Built two on Oly MX lowers about 3 years ago. Everything went together well, both rifles are reliable. Only thing I have noticed is the magwells are on the tight side of spec. I would not hesitate on building on a forged Oly lower.

With regards to e-mailing Sig customer service. When I sent Sig a quesiton about a mis-feeding P229 my first e-mail was replied to with an automated message stating that I needed to reply to that message in a specific way or my first message wouldn't go to a real person. :banghead: I...

weapon light suggestions for P229DAK (nightstand gun)

What are the recommended lights for a Sig P229DAK? First use will be as a nightstand gun. I'm concerned with having a switch that is easily reachable with the trigger finger to activate, a pressure switch would be even better but I have not seen any of those around. Also I'm leaning towards...

    AR-15 for Deer.

Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread.... but Zak, did you try pushing the 70gain bullets any faster? Was the 2700+fps the best accuracy load? Or is the velocity due to the solid copper construction of the Barnes? What was the load? Oh, what COL? Zak, as I let you know last week...
