    .380 100grn RNFP need help

The loads I listed aren't maximum, so I'd back off maybe 5-7% to start.

    Special loads in Magnum cases..?

In .357 Magnum I load 158gr LSWC bullets to .38 Special velocities using Trail Boss. Fills the case nicely and gives good accuracy. It's also impossible to put in a double charge of powder... I don't load for the .44 Magnum anymore, but I'm sure this would work just as well.

What do the bands on 38 Special cases mean?

    Here's a photo of CH4D's cannelure tool:

    380 size

In .380 Auto, I usually expect my jacketed bullets to measure .355" in diameter, and my lead bullets .356".

    .380 100grn RNFP need help

I load Hornady's 100gr FMJ-Encapsulated bullet to .960" to ensure 100% functioning in all my .380 Auto pistols. I usually look for about 925 fps with this bullet,to duplicate factory energy levels (about 190 ft-lbs). The following powders and amounts get me close: VV N310 - 2.7gr Accurate #2 -...

    Should I get Quickload?

I've used QuickLOAD for several years. It's definitely added to my enjoyment of this hobby. If you're the analytical type ("What will changing the COL of this load do to the computed pressure and velocity?"), then QuickLOAD might well be a worthwhile addition.

Grade my first 45 colt reloads!

What are you shooting these with? My records show 7.0gr of Unique chrono-ed at 825 fps, 7.6gr at 893 fps, and 8.1gr at 951 fps. These were Missouri Bullet 250gr LRNFP bullets shot from a 5-1/2" Ruger Bisley Blackhawk with a COL of 1.580". I don't use quite as much crimp as your photos show, but...

Hornady bulk 55gr FMJBT with cannelure - what is reasonable accuracy?

A 20-round group of 2.5" at 100 yards with iron sights? I'd be satisfied with that. I'll bet you could cut that group in half with a decent scope.

    Lead or brass

When firearms manufacturers say "don't shoot reloads", that's their liability release in case you decide that Clark's loads are kinda wimpy, and upping all published max loads by 50% is reasonable... I mean really, what firearm manufacturer can say "Oh, any reloads are just fine!" But when a...

Novice ?...What makes .22 a target pistol vs normal handguns

What about the sheer joy of it? I believe more .22 ammo is expended every year through "plinking" than any other activity. And I'm pretty sure there's no formal "shooting tin cans" competition. Also, handgun hunting with a .22LR for small game can be very enlightening and enjoyable.

    Worst powder you have used

I wouldn't use the term ''bad powder'', as most canister-grade powders have a use for which they are very good. It just may not be the use you intended... Powders I bought once (but won't buy again) are Bullseye, 700X, 800X, TiteGroup, Accurate #5, Accurate #7, HP38, Accurate 5744, and SR4756...

    Pressures for .357/44 B&D?

Well, the default maximum average pressure (map) QuickLOAD uses for this cartridge is 39,987 psi (and no, I don't know why it's such an odd number). Personally, knowing that the SAAMI map for the .357 Magnum is 35,000 psi, and the map for the .44 Magnum is 36,000 psi, I'd use something less than...

I use Accurate #2 extensively, and haven't ever noticed a static electricity problem. And it's pretty dry here in western Colorado...

    Ar15 powders

I use Ramshot's X-terminator with pulled 55gr FMJ bullets in LC brass lighted by Wolf SR Magnum primers in my AR15. The combination is inexpensive, and the results are satisfying. I can shoot as many 30rd mags as I like, and not have to worry about what it's costing me.

    best 9mm bullet

For social work, I load Speer 124gr GDHP bullets for my Glock 17. For practice, I load Hornady 124gr FMJ-Encapsuled or Montana Gold 124gr CMJ. Dardas 125gr LRN bullets also get shot out of the Lone Wolf barrel.

    45 Colt (LC) Brass

Here's what Starline has to say about their .45 Colt Blank brass: "The .45 Long Colt Blank has the same external dimensions as the standard .45 Colt but utilizes a .140" diameter flash hole to keep the primer from backing out with blanks. FOR BLANK USE ONLY! NOT TO BE LOADED AS LIVE AMMUNITION!!"

    Which .22LR Pistol?

Stock up on some CCI Standard Velocity (SV) and be prepared for decades of accurate shooting. I just put a holosight on mine and it's MUCH more accurate than I am. These guys have pretty good prices if you buy in quantity...

What has happened to the QC at S&W?

Some of the pictures posted of "new guns" put out by S&W are unbelievable. Crooked sights, misaligned barrels, cylinders that don't rotate, and gouges aplenty. The Harvard MBAs at S&W have obviously determined that it's cheaper to replace defective products than to have them undergo any...

    best 9mm powder

If you're looking for reloading data for Silhouette, then you can also use data for WAP (Winchester Action Pistol). According to Ramshot, WAP and Silhouette are the same powder.

New to reloading... What is this?

Looks to be a Lee Case Length Gauge to be used with their Case Trimmer and Lock Stud system.
