Any Problem Trickling Powder By Hand?

Wow, that is really cool! I'm gonna go with that and a powder trickler. My main issue with funnels is the one I have would sometimes allow powder to fall out between the bottom and the case neck in .223 cases with ball powders. Now since I use stick powders for the most part, a funnel wouldn't...

Any Problem Trickling Powder By Hand?

Hi all, I was just wondering if putting my brass and primer on my scale, zeroing it, then throwing powder into it and then removing or adding powder to reach my desired grain weight on the scale while wearing gloves is a valid method of weighing charges. Thanks in advance!

Where are reloading components available (Not a Discussion Thread)

Feel free to delete this if it clutters the thread, but I'm really eager to get my hands on some Federal Gold Medal Match Large Rifle Primers. If someone could PM me when some come in stock somewhere online, I'd be extremely appreciative!

    SHARE YOUR HAND LOADING MISTAKES

A few minor things that have already been mentioned here, like putting in a primer backwards, but I'm just grateful that I've not made any handloading mistakes that would cause me to no longer have any hands to load with.

Dry tumbler, Wet tumbler or UltraSonic?

I think each system has pros and cons, but I've only used wet tumbling, because it works great for me. It gets the brass very nice and shiny, and the primer pockets are immaculate. Just set them with stainless steel pins, laundry detergent and Lemishine for two hours, then spray them off with...

Loss of accuracy after switching to Lapua brass?

Alright, I think I found a good load. I used 27.7 grains of PowerPro 2000-MR, CCI 450 primer, Nosler 70 grain RDF .224" bullet, and Lapua brass. 18 shots across my Magnetospeed chrono averaged 3015 FPS, with a 26 FPS extreme spread, and an SD of 9. The conditions were 87% humidity, 61°F, 30 mmHG...

Looking for CCI 450's as well; found them at a local store after looking for 3 weeks, and I've been there several times since. It's been months, and I haven't found them in stock again. I just want the shortage to be over. :(

Loss of accuracy after switching to Lapua brass?

Hello everyone, I'm sorry for my sour attitude; I've become frustrated with this build and sort of became impatient, but from now on I'm going to take my time and not give up and continue to test more combinations. There seems to be some confusion about the barrel. I purchased the barrel about...

Loss of accuracy after switching to Lapua brass?

Well I tried the LC brass, and it made no difference; it was still inaccurate. The group must've been a fluke. I'm just going to stick with my 0.97 MOA load. I guess I expected better from a stainless steel varmint barrel from White Oak Armory for $300 when my 308 savage shoots better for $280...

Loss of accuracy after switching to Lapua brass?

hello everyone, I recently worked up a load with the 73 grain Hornady ELD match in 5.56 NATO. I worked them up using once fired brass that appeared to be Lake City based on the headstamp that I got from some full metal jacket plinking ammo that I used up. I used 28.0 grains of PowerPro 2000 MR...

    Small, Black Spheres in BCG?

Okay, so I loaded up 100 rounds of 24.3 grains of varget with CCI 450 primers, and went to the range. All 100 rounds fired without a hitch, I took apart the bcg, and the retaining pin wasn't bent, and there was no foreign debris inside. Also, my groups and velocities were better than with the...

    Small, Black Spheres in BCG?

Alright so I'm going to use some thicker primers and hopefully they don't blow and bend my firing pin.

Why would I use primers that cost twice as much as the 450s?

    Should I use CCI 450s?

    Small, Black Spheres in BCG?

The pellets look like they are made of metal. All parts of the rifle except the barrel, which has about 400 rounds through it, have shot about 2-3k rounds.
