My wife gave me a S&W 340PD for our anniversary a few years ago, a S&W AR15 for my birthday last year.

The brass can be reused. If you only reloaded it load it 4 times, that brings your cost down to about $250, which is a lot cheaper.

Just an update, after several-hundred rounds, the pad is still firmly attached and in one piece. :thumbup:

So far, I've gone through about 150 rounds (about a third of those being Magnum), and there are no signs of it moving or wanting to pull off. That said, I was very careful to use an alcohol pad and clean/dry the backstrap really good before installing the pad.
