I have always heard the old timers refer to the .45 as big bore but then again never heard many conversations about the 41 mag so maybe it starts there but is it the same for rifle and pistol? Is 40 short and wimpy big bore?
i find the advantage lies when you can no longer buy the brass you seek ie 6.5 jap brass from 243. ill do almost anything to keep great grandpas bring back from the pacific running

i have used diamond k brass alot anytime i have had questions i am able to call and talk to a person and get taken care of i just checked before posting and they had 380 available at this time but not sure if the price is comparable i havent checked brass exchange
i have used mbc 115gr coated with titegroup with great accuracy in a sig 365,p938 and an old s&w model 39 only had 1 issue when i didnt bell case mouth enough shaved some coating and caused a failure to go into battery...my fault for not catching it after i seated the bullet
