I've seen heavy coats of heavy grease on slide rails slow the action enough to cause malfunctions.
On the other hand, light coats of light grease (like Tetra) can work well on slide rails. I do that myself for pistols that may set for a long time before they need to be used.
For general...
One safe would be more convenient.
Two safes would be marginally more secure.
Personally, I'd get one good large safe and save yourself the hassle of dealing with two combinations and two safes.
Can you be sure that round was not deformed like that when you loaded it into the mag?
I only say that because I don't see how that kind of damage could be caused by the normal cycle of operation of the pistol.
Occasionally weird things are found in boxes of ammo from rounds with no powder...
Thanks for posting the article and I've bookmarked the site.
I prefer tritium for defensive use, but I can think of some uses for the glow in the dark paint in the competitive arena.
Thanks!
I find anything heavier than a lightweight J frame to be too much for me.
So, a J frame in a belly band is what goes with me with when I go jogging.
Anything in a fanny pack bounces too much, and I don't wear a belt with sweats.
Perhaps not on this board, but there are people that literally believe (and demand) that velocity is irrelevant in pistol rounds, trust me.
This is a direct quote from another board:
"Velocity in a handgun is irrelevant as a wounding factor. All velocity does (when a proper bullet is...
Some folks (seriously) believe that velocity is irrelevant when discussing pistol rounds.
They favor the 147 gr in 9mm.
That is as simple as I can state it.
"Those people over there have evil mean looking guns with 30 shot banana clips. Somebody should DO SOMETHING about that"
"Those people over there are selling guns for stupid high prices and that REALLY gets under my skin. Somebody should DO SOMETHING about that"
Hmmm...
That's just it though, they don't have to push around the gun community.
All they have to do is trick/bribe/threaten 51% of the politicians to vote for their new law and its a done deal.
I think/hope that will be an uphill battle for them, but so was ObamaCare and we know how that went down.
Full size gun safe?
Do what I did...cover it with a refrigerator box.
Hard part is finding one.
Try folks that you know that are new to town. They often are buying a new fridge and will give you the box.

"I believe it is a good idea when stopping in traffic (red light for instance) to leave room to make an evasive maneuver if necessary. This would involve not pulling up too close to the car in front of you and trying to avoid having immovable objects beside you. Of course all this assumes you...
Yes.
I can jam my G19 and G17 at will by limp wristing them. It is easiest with standard pressure ammo, and harder, but not impossible with +p and +p+.
My G22 is similiar to the 9mm with +ps, difficult to limp wrist jam, but not impossible.
My G24 has many malfs when I shoot it with the...
