I actually got a great deal on mine after a customer ordered one, got home with it and then realized his finger was too fat to fit into the trigger guard so he wanted to sell it.

My favorite rifle is my Winchester model 71 .348. I haven’t found another levergun with an action as slick and I’ve never felt undergunned anywhere I’ve brought it for a hike. It’s also the cartridge that sparked my interest in handloading.

Model 28’s are real nice shooting guns. This one I picked up last year is one of my favorite guns to head to the range with. I’m not a huge fan of the magnaported barrel though and have been contemplating finding a 4” barrel to have fitted to it.

I’m a big fan of the bearcat, it carries well on the hip and is a great little plinking gun. I have yet to take any game with it, but I’m dialing it in with some hollow points to give small game hunting a try this season.

I came across my 16ga Ithaca 37 a few years back when someone came into the shop trading his grandfathers rabbit gun towards a springfield xds. It’s now the first gun I grab when I’m going for a walk in the woods.

Brought my 16ga Ithaca 37 for a walk in the woods a few times this week, unfortunately we were unable to kick up and pheasants.

Currently waiting on the paperwork for NY to give me permission to take this super blackhawk hunter 44 magnum home…and then take that scope off before heading to the range.

I love taking this Winchester 71 for walks through the woods every fall.

What a pair they are. I really need to hunt down a 4” model.

My most used is a sticky holster I use for keeping my model 36 safe and secure in my front pocket. My favorite is the one a customer at the gun store I work for made for my range officer 10mm.

I agree. I love the way the gun shoots but I would not have had it ported myself. I may end up selling/trading it for another N frame or a model 19 down the road if I find a decent deal locally.

Yeah if I had the option I wouldn’t have one magnaported, but I can live with. Between the heavy N frame and the porting I can shoot heavy magnums out of it all day long

My favorite to take out kicking up birds is my 16ga Ithaca 37

A 4” would be the perfect carry for my neck of the woods imo, I just can’t bring myself to pay gunbroker prices, especially if it’s going to end up riding in a holster on hikes and fishing trips.

I had been searching for a 4” for a while but couldn’t pass this one up. Finding the correct rear sight took a while to find but I wanted it to look as factory correct as possible. I gave up trying to find some diamond magnas when I saw the prices they fetch on ebay and gunbroker though.

This old Smith and Wesson Highway Patrolman came into the shop I work for, the owner had bought it to hunt deer, had it magnaported then added the scope and pachmayrs. I took it home for $500 and after some ballistol, throwing some stocks I got for free, and scoring the rear sight assembly on...

I’ve been carrying the Springfield Armory Range Officer Elite 10mm lately, unless it’s Wheelgun Wednesday, then I have to take the Highway Patrolman along for a hike.

This old model 36 sits right in my pocket everyday.
